So, let's see if I have this straight:

* People are bitching that a free game is on a different platform.
* People are bitching because a new platform has teething problems.
* People are bitching because the actual creators of a product are making financial decisions that benefit them.
* People are bitching, with no small amount of hand wringing and pearl clutching, that the demise of PC gaming is nigh because...reasons.
* People are bitching because they're not willing to patronize a distributor even though the distributor has a product they want.
* People are bitching that games are exclusives while completely disregarding that exclusives have been around since, literally, the advent of mass market gaming. Going all the way back to the earliest commodity home PCs (Amiga, Apple, and Atari) and consoles (Atari, Colecovision, and Intellivison).

That about cover it? Good.

- Don't accept the free title and move on.
- Regardless of industry, every new product platform has teething problems. Cars have been around for nearly 150 years yet new model lines still have problems. Why does a distribution platform get singled out with the expectation that it is supposed to be magically perfect from day 0? "B...b...but it doesn't have these industry commonalities!" Meh, so? My truck didn't come with a donut spare tire, either, which is an "industry commonality". I don't recall ever throwing a tantrum over it. Unless I am mistaken, you are not legally compelled to install or use this platform.
- Don't like how a company does business? Don't patronize them, don't purchase their products, but for fuck's sake...move on and get over your entitlement.
- Did we forget that the PC is open platform that is not locked down to a specific hardware spec or OS install? It's really difficult to kill something that literally anyone can write code for, whether it be hardware or software. We're also in the age of the internet where someone in a distant part of the globe can offer their wares to literally everyone with a connection to the internet. The very thought that the PC, as an open platform, is going to die is ignorant and, frankly, laughable.
- No one owes you a goddamned thing. Don't like a distributor? Don't patronize them. Just stop throwing tantrums you entitled, spoiled, selfish children. No one gives a shit about your personal opinion and it seems quite obvious that the mass majority doesn't care. If they did, business practices would change. Hint: they're not. You're in the minority, get over yourself.

If you're really, really that pissed about it, perhaps you should contemplate creating your content distribution platform and competing. Oh, wait, you just want to bitch about a perceived problem but not actually, you know, do something about it? Then, tada, you're just a self-entitled asshat.

- Learn history, especially the history of computing. Exclusives have been around since the dawn of computing, even going so far back as the original commercial mainframes and terminals. It's a marketing tactic that has been applied to every product ever created since the beginning of commerce in humanity.

It's an IQ test.
It's a compassion test.
It's a decency test.
It's a social responsibility test.
