How dare people point out that engaging in the console wars on the PC platform be a bad thing, especially after Epic's statements attacking PC gamers for decades - until the bottom fell out of the console market.
Looks like Steam has people by the balls going from all these replies. Slaves to their large library of games on ONE platform unable to work without Steam. How dare competition to the monopoly try and give developers a better cut!
Consoles you have to buy the hardware, with this, you just install an app... Ever watched Game of Thrones, you know the HBO exclusive tv show? You boycotting HBO also?
You really are wacked, your comparing apple to oranges.
But so are people comparing this to Xbox and PS4.
Dude, thats completely different, consoles require you to actually make a decision of which hardware you prefer to play your games on, some people buy both.
Its completely different when you have a pc, but have a company like Epic thats forcing a war by forcing exclusives. At least on Steam, you can get it on GOG too or UBI. Theirs a choice at least there. But Epics shenanigans are out of control.
For me to play every console game I want to play, I'd have to pay over $700 for hardware.
For me to play every PC game I want, I need to download a different storefront.
How the one of these requiring spending nearly a grand is better in your eyes than the one requiring literally no money out of your pocket is really baffling.
And, frankly, Steam has literally hundreds of thousands of exclusives. They may not be contractually exclusives, but I cannot game on the PC without Steam. No gamer can choose to be Steam-free.
