Borderlands 2 Free Weekend [Apr 04, 2019, 6:24 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Steam is
now offering the chance to play Borderlands 2 for free and pick up the
looter shooter sequel on sale. This includes a chance for the uninitiated to
check out the new ultra HD texture pack that was just added to the game and see
what they think of the series as we begin to learn more about plans for
Borderlands 3. Here's a description of the game, which is far more
entertaining if you read it in a claptrap voice:
A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.

The way Pitchford said that Jack was dead, kinda hinted that he might not be dead, but that's just how I took his way of saying it. I'm sure he's not coming back, but you never know in a game series (especially this one). That being said, if the evil bandit twins can even remotely come close to Jack's charm etc, I'm sure the game will be fine then. If they suck as characters then well, its just another looter shooter with no story then.
I installed the texture pack, and the only difference I can detect is that now the textures sometimes take even longer to "snap" into place.
