Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I imagine that much of the partying went on last
night, but I also know that some people take this seriously enough that they set
alarms this morning to start the festivities. So please enjoy, but also please be
careful... there's a lot of amateur drinking going on today.
The occasion is a little more somber here at the BlueTower, as we're still
coming to grips with the loss of the Gunnar-man. I want to express heartfelt
thanks for all the kind thoughts you offered in the comments and by email, they
are quite touching and have provided a great deal of comfort. MrsBlue was quite
moved by these expressions, prompting her to spend some time this morning
reading some old Out of the Blues where I talked about the doggies, which
brought a lot of laughs and good memories. We're still in pain, but focusing on
the great times we all shared helps a lot. Speaking of which, I found the last
picture that I took of him, and it is really something special. We went out with
the parents of the twins and Jedi the Jindo last Sunday and Gunnar came along,
as he was always a big hit at this doggie- and family-friendly watering hole. A
darling little girl was there with her folks, and though the twins are her age,
like so many people, she was drawn to Gunnar, and an immediate friendship was
struck. At some point I looked down and realized how much of a love-fest this
had become, giving me the chance to sneak this beautiful photo, which I will
treasure forever:
