Out of the Blue

Today is Ash Wednesday, so hats off (literally) for all who are celebrating. This means I forgot yesterday was Shrove Tuesday. So I missed Mardi Gras, and more tragically, Pancake Tuesday, as I love pancakes. Well, I blew my chance to get plastic beads for flashing my goods, but at least I can still get some pancakes, so I'll have to content myself with that.

I always liked French toast much better than pancakes, but pancakes are good too.

Had pancakes last night for dinner that were so light and fluffy that you could have used them for pillows. They were delicious!

Plus...yesterday was Taco Tuesday so I had those for lunch. Win! Allthumbsup

A few years back a guy I know found his photo in a list of the most hipster-infested parts of the country, from a major publication. He didn't look at it and get angry, though, he looked at it and did a serious question about where he went so wrong and what he had become. He spent the next two months doing a major (though budget) makeover, and did so extremely successfully.

Meanwhile, my best friend is incredibly anti-hipster and refuses to go to Brooklyn for any reason. He's a banker, but married a woman who's a bit crunchy. So now, when he makes his hipster rants, he's possibly in his suit, but more likely in a flannel shirt, beard, beanie, and a Patagonia micropuff. He is absolutely what he fears, haha.

Teen who defied anti-vax mom says she got false information from one source: Facebook.

“I didn’t agree with anything he said,” Jill Wheeler, Lindenberger’s mother, told the Associated Press. “They’ve made him the poster child for the pharmaceutical industry.”

Vaccines of course are not a money maker for Big Pharma. The government has to basically force them to make them.

In his testimony, he said he approached his mother repeatedly in an attempt to sway her views. In one instance, he cited the CDC. His mother replied, ‘That’s what they want you to think.’ "
“She didn’t trust any sources," he told The Post. “She thought vaccines were a conspiracy by the government to kill children.”

How do you even fix that?

I think he's referring to the ones with the propeller on top, not your standard knit cap.

If it's below zero, beanies are fine. If it's sunny outside and only mildly chilly you might be walking down hipster lane...

Never have understood how people can stand to wear them in warm weather. Different strokes for different folks.
