I think killing is more accepted by society because there are genuine circumstances in reality where killing someone is justified, and at times even legal. You can't really say the same about rape. Without making up ridiculous, non-real world scenarios, there simply isn't any justification.
Killing? Sure. There are times when that's justified. Murder, and specifically Murder One? I'm gonna go with no on that one.
Mostly, I agree. However the leap from justified killing to murder? Sometimes it is all in the intent, sometimes the "murder" should have been legal and the accused simply became a victim of an overzealous DA, etc. Anyway, my point was that if one type of killing is justified, it's easier to accept any type of killing. Our society is bombarded by killing every day, from the news to entertainment. Is murder OK? No, but it's so pervasive that we tend to be a little desensitized to it.
Rape, because there is no circumstance wherein it is acceptable to society, is much harder for people to swallow.
Anyway, I am all for the freedom to do and think what you like, but if someone tells me they love rape porn, I'm probably not going to associate with them anymore.
