World War Z Trailer

The zombies are coming! That's the warning from a new trailer from Saber Interactive to show off World War Z, their co-op shooter that's rushing to cash in on the 2013 Brad Pitt movie of the same name. The accompanying announcement reiterates the game's April 16th release date, but disturbingly only mentions the console editions. We're not sure if this means the Windows edition expected on the Epic Games Store is delayed, if this is just an oversight. Here's the announcement:
The “Zombies Are Coming” Trailer is the newest look at the game and shows off even more over-the-top, zombie-horde action - just in time to celebrate pre-orders being available at participating retail stores.

Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine™, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time for a one-of-a-kind action experience. Choose from six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps. Outlive the dead through intense four-player co-op campaign missions around the world, and battle both zombies and real human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies (PvPvZ) multiplayer.

World War Z is expected to launch on April 16, 2019, for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.

I really feel like World War Z the novel would make a great Bioware style RPG or even a TellTale episodic game where every episode was a completely different story and throughout the season(s) you tell the story of the war.

It seems especially weird considering the sequel is seemingly on hiatus. I wouldn't say I'm tired of zombie games, mores that there just aren't a lot of good ones anymore. I'm always down to play something good regardless of setting.
We've had recent good games based on decades old franchises, like Alien: Isolation and the recent Friday 13th game.

I would be totally down for a Left 4 Dead 3 if it saw the light of day. Right now I've been hooked on Dead Island Riptide. Can't believe I slept on it. I'm so looking forward to Dead Island 2. I couldn't get into Dying Light even though I have that as well.

As for this, don't care about it. I thought the movie sucked too. No interest here unless I hear something good.

As long as it does something different then I'm still game for zombie games. This looks like Left 4 Dead meets Dead Rising, which is isn't super fresh, but it could still be fun.

I am still down for Dying Light 2 this year. Believe that!

Hear hear! So am I! DL2 is the one zombie game that I am waiting for.

No, but then again I'm also not tired of WW2 games or sci-fi or whatever gets labeled a fad next. Most of that may be that for the last 3 years I buy one new game every 3 months at most and play most things 2-4 years late, though...
