Xbox Games on Windows 10?

A post to the Windows Experience Blog from a couple of weeks ago suggests that Microsoft is working on being able to run Xbox games natively under Windows 10. The post explains how to install and run State of Decay in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18334, and PCGamesN notes that Thurrott.com reports this seems to be the native Xbox edition of the game: "Instead of downloading from the Microsoft Store server, serverdl.microsoft.com, where all content comes from including PlayAnywhere titles, the game downloads from assets1.xboxlive.com." Word is:
Help gaming on Windows and play State of Decay!

We’re excited to bring technology tailor-made for gaming to Windows. Help us validate these systems work as expected, and play State of Decay for free (limited time only!). Just tell us about any problems you encounter with installing and launching the game.

I guess that's one way of getting RDR1/2 on PC...
My guess is that the final say on whether Xbox games will play on PC will be up to the publisher, and that certain high-profile exclusives will be exempt.
Would be weird, given most high-profile exclusives on Xbox are published by MS, or at the least sponsored by them. T2 would have to be kinda twatish to block a free "port" if the whole process is handled by MS.

I can't remember which exclusives are on Xbox One? One S? Whatever the current console is called. However, I sure can remember a handful of exclusives on PS4 that was really good: Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, and so forth. I'm a diehard PC gamer but I think PS4 PRO is a solid machine with a stellar line-up of titles. If you get a native PS4 PRO title that's enhanced for 4K it looks amazing. Horizon Zero Dawn is a show piece.

They do this when Xbox is lack of exclusive and losing marketshare.... when Xbox do great, M$ will be the first to dump PC gaming.

I don't have much expectation from MS. I don't use Xbox, MS office and their store. All I want is MS made sure Windows 10 is stable and PC gaming friendly.

So they're using a game that's already available on Windows to test a console port to windows? I can see that might help for comparison, but wouldn't some console exclusive (like God of War) be more useful in the long run?
