Ok, so I pretty much played this game all weekend long. It's very addicting and fun. The only problems I have with it are: PEOPLE. Just like every multiplayer game.
The people who go off in 2 seperate directions so you try to pick one to follow only it is obvious they do not want to play as a squad.
The people who die/quit immediately after jumping so you essentially play solo. (Although I have hit 3rd and 2nd place a few times as a solo.)
The people who grab EVERYTHING and then curse you out because you die, even though they left you nothing to fight with.
The people who knowingly walk into a fire fight with 5 other squads and curse you out because you couldn't rez them even though you were a bit busy fighting for your life.
When you get a decent squad, or even a not terrible squad this game is brilliant. Much harder to enjoy with horrible players or assholes.
Most of what you mentioned is a result of bad squad mates, and I commiserate with you. But I'm getting the feeling that you might hug too close to your squad mates during looting. Make sure you're slightly splitting off on the initial drop once you reach the general area. Hit up different but nearby buildings than your squad mates. If after all of that you're still lacking some things use the spot tool in your inventory to identify them or if not possible then ask for specific stuff like, "I still need an assault rifle" but otherwise just middle click the scope slot if all you need is that etc.
Following too closely doesn't help the team. You're getting scraps for loot, you're only seeing the same angles as the guy you're following... It's definitely a delicate balance, spreading out just enough to not be stepping on toes but also not too far that the team is in trouble when action hits.
