Apex Legends Launched [Feb 04, 2019, 3:35 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
The promised Twitch reveal for
Apex Legends seems to be a nothingburger so far, but the
Apex Legends Website is
live, saying the new battle royale game based on the Titanfall series is now
available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The Windows edition is available
on Origin, where
they have a link to a
trailer which YouTube currently lists as unavailable, so this unveiling is
not going perfectly smoothly. Here's word on this free-to-play battle royale
shooter:

BR is not interesting to me so without the mechs or wall running this game lands squarely in the "not my wheelhouse" territory. Best of luck to them.

Yeah, after playing a few matches, I actually had a good time (damnit). Funnily enough, the best match my son and I had was one where even though it's groups of 3's, it was just the two of us. Have to admit it was better than I was expecting.

Doesnt look too bad. But even if its F2P, it requires Origin, so its a straight pass.
I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.

Exactly my thought process as well. Started watching some streams keen to see some mech on mech action... and nothing? Just people running around on speed sliding around non stop and insta killing each other ala Call of Consoles: Blackout.
Wasted opportunity. Come on guys, do something different! Fortnite has building, what about the rest of you? Bring something new and interesting to the genre to pull people away from the game they are already comfortable and happy with.
Kinda looks like callofduty with borderlands looting maybe?
I love Fortnite..keeps thy little kids out of thy good games...

This is what was disappointing to me. Too many trolls/mic hogs, etc out there. Games like this I prefer to go solo.

Yeah, a HUGE missed opportunity to do something different with the genre.

Yeah looks like a lovechild made by Blackout and Overwatch. Even some of the weapons are called the same.
