F2P PUBG LITE Plans [Jan 25, 2019, 11:41 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
PUBG Corporation
announces they are beta testing PUBG LITE in Thailand, as they
contemplate a free-to-play version of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS that will
support lower-end systems. They offer system specs and details on what the beta
includes for now, and say: "This test is limited to play in Thailand only for
now and will help us determine if this is a viable product for other regions."

To this end, the PUBG LITE team has focused on balancing lower hardware requirements, without compromising on our quality standards. The end result is a build that is playable even on computers and laptops utilizing integrated graphics.

PUBG LITE is a standalone product from the core PUBG game and as such has its own dedicated dev team that will create exclusive content and quality of life features while also adding maps and content familiar to PUBG players. Or just accept you are garbage, will never compete with young people on medical grade amphetamines and dual 2080ti's and enjoy the brief moments of drunken ramboesque murder brilliance you pull out of your ass occasionally. I endure the constant, savage negative KD embarrassment because I am enduring it with family and friends (And rum).

As for the framerate bug, hard to see how that dosnt exist in everything without some crazy rollback netcode or other code magic. I think it's once of the strengths of the consoles in equalising/flattening the performance profile for all users.
And in pubg's case it seems to be an advantage to have a slower rate of fire in terms of recoil control, actual DPS disadvantage in a fast TTK game seems marginal. My feeling is if you are ever in a situation where 20-200ms makes a difference in the outcome you have already failed tactically, even if you come out on top.
