inXile Entertainment reveals the developer is working on a remaster of the
original Wasteland (thanks
DSOGaming). This sci-fi role-playing game was developed by Interplay and
released in 1988 to great acclaim. The series was revived by inXile, the current
studio run by Interplay founder Brian Fargo, and an overdue sequel was released
in 2014 and Wasteland 3
was announced a couple of years ago. Now
word is the granddaddy of them all (and arguably the Fallout series as well) is
getting a fresh coat of paint:

If this is like anything they did with Bards 1-3, this is exciting.
yea, this was announced in June as part of the Wasteland 30th Anniversary Bundle
Despite being more than old enough to have played the original, I actually never did. I own it now, it came with my copy of the sequel, but still haven't even installed it. The sequel was fun but playing it with worse graphics, sounds, etc didn't sound appealing. Because of all that, this is one remaster I am really looking forward to.

It was a really fun game, at the time. As with most things, I do not know if it would hold up today. At the time though, it was a megaton of fun(tm).

Should be good. I fired up the original one a few years back and couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell I was supposed to do anymore. I turned it off after five minutes.
