A tweet from inXile Entertainment reveals the developer is working on a remaster of the original Wasteland (thanks DSOGaming). This sci-fi role-playing game was developed by Interplay and released in 1988 to great acclaim. The series was revived by inXile, the current studio run by Interplay founder Brian Fargo, and an overdue sequel was released in 2014 and Wasteland 3 was announced a couple of years ago. Now word is the granddaddy of them all (and arguably the Fallout series as well) is getting a fresh coat of paint:

We are in fact working on a remaster of the original Wasteland.

Should be good. I fired up the original one a few years back and couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell I was supposed to do anymore. I turned it off after five minutes.
