Out of the Blue

Apparently today is National Sandwich Day 2018 here in the U.S. There's a write up on this on USA Today referring to this as a "made-up" holiday, which makes us wonder where they think holidays come from. Anyway, with the chance to score free food, I'd argue this is more of a real holiday than most of them. I'm a big sandwich fan myself, and a hamburger, basically the king of sandwiches, is about my favorite dish in the world, so I'm on board with the celebration here.

Incidentally, they're also both gross.

No. How can you have a plural "it"? It would be "they" or "them", in which case, "their".

I was wrong about its' -- apparently that is never correct. I always was better at math.

The possessive is: its

The contraction is: it's

And the contraction can be used for either "it is" or "it has".

Pretty sure Cutter got it right. Undo the contraction:

"If it is not made with Gruyere, it ain't FOS."

Surprised you didn't complain about "ain't"
Uh, I don't think so...

"I think the hamburger stands alone in it is own category,..."

but as I mentioned, he made a different error in his correction...

That's a different usage: its (third person singular possessive pronoun) vs. it's (contraction of "it is"). Cutter was using the latter, and using it correctly.

No, what Tact is pointing out is that you're looking at the wrong place. Cutter used its/it's twice, and the first one was wrong. Tact quoted the place where it was wrong.

I don't know what the its' is about, though.

As for its' (ending with a single quote like "Moses' dog"), I'm pretty sure that's not a thing.

Ode to the hamburger, this king of sandwiches even gets a bun named after it. Take that freedom pomme frites french fries!

Whilst the the hamburger is technically a hot sandwich I have a hard time viewing it as a sandwich for some reason. I think the hamburger stands alone in it's own category, which is, the hamburger.

For me personally, the Clubhouse is the king of sandwiches. I really loathe when people fuck with it using chicken or ham instead of turkey - or processed turkey instead of oven baked turkey. Putting cheese in it, cheddar in particular. Just real turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, butter and mayo on toast, please and thank you very much. So simple and beautiful a thing yet so many manage to screw it up.

Same with French Onion Soup, if it's not made with Gruyere it ain't FOS!

Which is why the engineers, architects, and management that made that damn bridge should be held partly accountable.

The guardrail completely failed, and looking at its design, it wouldn't stop ANY vehicle of substantial size.

That guardrail is for a back country road to stop a car from sliding down a 15 foot embankment... DEFINITELY not to code to protect the steel strands and support columns during the worse case of an out of control commercial vehicle, or even keep said vehicle from +100 ft drop.

Look at the driver video. He DELIBERATELY cranks the wheel to the left. She had already stopped her assault for a moment. He was not distracted at the time, there was nothing in front to avoid.

He was going straight, and then she goes out of view and he suddenly swerves left ON PURPOSE.

You can see from the other dashcam, that there are no vehicles ahead of the bus that he was trying to avoid.

I think he was trying to get her to fall down and stop attacking him when the bus hit the barrier. I don't think he was expecting to go over the side. He was hoping the bus would just crash and she would maybe be ejected through the windshield, but he 100% purposely crashed the vehicle.
