I'd like it to cost me a little more, like in some Patreon contributions...

It amazes me that Blue's News keep going forever. It's expensive. :O

I dunno, I appreciate that Blue has a site he updates twice daily and makes a living off of without me paying a dime for it.

I appreciate that his site is free, I don't know of another gaming/tech site that I enjoy more. I have no problem at all that he seeks some way to cover his costs.

Oh Beamer, you silly. Don't you know that the magical blog fairy leaves money under Blue's pillow every night? The ad revenue is just gravy!

Why not both?, i mean the more money blue makes the better off we'll be (trickle down effect). And don'f forget the t-shirts, I already bought 2 of these so you knows I got money to burn.

I appreciate Blue can make a living from them but that doesn't mean I have to appreciate the ads or advertisers. Fair play, every now and then an awesome ad does make an appearance but the other 99% are just a waste of time and money if you ask me.

Even so, how many people here that allow the ads through uBlock ever bother to look at them, or, God forbid, CLICK on them?

I mean, I'll do from time to time just to generate some click-through revenue, but I have literally never bought a single thing because of an ad here. (The Amazon links excepted.)

If they want to pay Blue for things I never read, more power to us.

Yeah I even click on them occasionally because I am never sure if Blue gets paid just for having them on his header and sidebar or only if they get clicked on.

Or they live at an age where they've learned that the world indeed has people that watch ads and actually buy stuff from them.

I use to have customers that would just stare at whatever the computer put in front of them. I will tell them they could skip through it or whatever and they just didn't do it. I always assumed it was from years of TV and having to watch commercials. That was in 2001-2002 or so though. Today I just assume everybody uses ad blockers and such.

I watch TV and that is what it is and no way around unless you want to use DVR or channel surf and that is what you do because those are the tools you have. Yeah being naive enough to not know you can add a addon blocker to your browser so easily that not only skips most ads, but really adds protection to your pc, it's hard to believe people haphazardly haven't just stumbled upon it. So I go to family and friends, turn off their ads, come back at a later time "Getting any ad's in Youtube?", "No and that's nice", yeah no shit.

I didn't even know they had video ad's anywhere near the places people use Facebook for. Either +1 ublock or they are so off to the side/buried how a company paying for advertising and using Facebook daily like many wouldn't get this.... well that's on you then.

My thoughts exactly.. it was already the case on tv and in street ads. There is a small chance that people will notice them if they are particularly tailored to my centers of interest and that's what they are paying for. Jee if people pay for ads thinking everybody will watch they are living on another planet..

This is something they needed data for? Unless forced to as in the case of unskippable video ads before youtube videos, who in their right mind would believe anyone voluntarily watches this garbage?
