I dont think so. There are still the same people in charge at Warner, who had a major share in fucking up nearly every DC movie of the last few years.

This is actually good news. Suicide Squad is a perfect fit for his talents.

Agreed. I wish he had done the first one. Not just because I think he would have told a different and better story, I also would have liked to have seen his influence on Jared Leto's Joker for example.

Ahh the sequel to an already terrible flick that no one asked for or wanted.

Well, they can only go up from the previous movie.

Hopefully he gets enough control to actually produce something worthwhile.

Sounds like he's just going to reboot the title which is probably the best case scenario anyone could ask for in this case since he has the talent to, well, not suck. I'm not a big fan of comic book movies but GotG is a pretty fun ride and the concept isn't too far off from SS providing WB gives him complete control.

Taken from Ars Technica:

It suggests that Gunn has "a totally new approach" to Suicide Squad in mind, which would hint at—but not outright confirm—something other than a sequel to the 2016 dud directed by David Ayer.

It can't possibly be as bad as the first one, right. Right?!?!?
