Out of the Blue

The doggies and I had a funny deer encounter this morning, as we got approached by one, in spite of their normal shyness. This actually happened in almost the exact same spot as our last such encounter, which makes sense because this is an area they frequent. We saw a bunch of deer this morning, and one of them seemed interested in the dogs, who both remained calm. When we moved on one started following us. Gunnar walks off the leash, and like last time, this seemed to inspire curiosity in the deer. I took a couple of photos to show the encounter, but I took them in portrait mode to better capture the scene not realizing that our screenshots script would flip them sideways, which is not ideal, but that's what I've got. Update: Thanks to Frans the photos are now properly oriented.

Okay, I never watch these, but how does it take a 19 minute video to do "Everything Wrong" with any movie? That's just excessive. Trim that shit down to like 5 minutes, buddy.

The “or less” part always annoys me, implying conciseness when there clearly isn’t.

Since Blue won't have a Blue's Con, went to Minneapolis to visit mrgrosser and Bats for the first time.. Also got to meet the wonderful women who put up with them/deal with them, and Batz Jr who after playing some Lego Star Wars with, is on his way to being a fine addition to the gaming community soon enough.
Also got my first girlfriend. Sadly she's a bit of a bed hog.

I can't thank either of these familys for inviting me to come visit during a time when my life is all sorts of fucking crazy. BTW do NOT play Bingo with either of them. You have been warned

Great story and pics! I was wondering where you were, since we hadn't heard from you in a while. Even posted a "Where's Halfelf" comment about a week ago.

2 times a year (family death anniversaries) I tend to fall down the rabbit hole. 5 year anniversary of my mom (followed by dad's birthday 9/7 and parents anniversary on 9/11), but this year I got pretty far down the hole, and all my support people that were suppose to be there for me weren't. I am mean NOONE, so thankfully 2 people from this site mrgrosser and xBatmanX/Retired became my knights in shining IT/Police armor.

This was followed up by the OD of a next door neighbor, who wasn't a bad person (actually had given 2 rooms to people who were homeless), falling down their own hole and not finding a way out. Then 2 days after my mom's anniversary a BFF from work's mom died in a very similar fashion while on chemo and radiation for cancer.
I know the stages he's going to go through, so helping him deal with his anger/sadness/numbness has helped me quite a bit.

I know I've said this before (I believe on Blue's personal anniversaries), but if you have a family member or friend, or someone ya care about but may be not quite on good terms with... tell them how ya feel, before you don't have the chance to.

What's left unsaid/undone/unloved can be more detrimental then you may know and can lead to yourself, or someone you know falling down their own hole. If I didn't have Batz and mrgrosser for support, I'd probably be homeless/incarcerated/dead right now.

Jesus Christ, SJWism is completely out of control. I bought a pair of cheap watch case openers off Amazon. In the pic they're distinctly different sizes - one smaller, one larger. However what they sent me are the exact same size. The only difference are the handle colors - one yellow, one black. So I said the photo was misleading and that either the yellow or black one was no good and I wouldn't rec buying from these people. Then I get an automated reply from Amazon telling me the review is rejected because it's offensive. Fucking seriously? Rolleyes

It might shed light on the situation if you posted the contents of the review?

I'm guessing something along the lines of "the black is bad." Yet it's the SJWs fault, not the fault of racist assholes for posting so much racist shit on Amazon that they have to put an automated filter out there to prevent it. Typical Cutter.

Hmm, I launched it in a new browser and one updated, but the other didn't -- how could that have happened? Weird.
Because I also fixed the filename of the first one (gunnaranddder -> gunnaranddeer ) so it was a "new" image.

I get a lot of chipmunks and squirrels who come by regularly but recently I've made friends with a little rabbit, whom I've named Hoppers. There have always been several around but they're very skittish and won't let you come anywhere near them, she on the other hand will. She's actually very comfortable in my presence. And she's smart too. I can put down food a foot away from a chipy or squirrel and they just look at you blankly. As soon as I put down food for her and back off a few steps she hops right over to it and tucks in. She shows up in the morning and evening like clockwork. I'm going to build her a little rabbit shelter for the winter and see if she'll hang out.
