Out of the Blue

Congrats to the Cleveland Browns and their fans on the team's first victory since 2016. I have to confess I did everything I could to prevent this by picking the Browns in our football pools, even to cover the spread! But they overcame this tremendous handicap and pulled out an inspired come-from-behind victory. Here's hoping it doesn't take them another 635 days to rack up their next win.

It's the worst roof ever too.
Exactly, it looks like it should have cost $35,000 to replace it. And what's up with those god awful shingles. Shoulda put a metal roof on it and never worry about it again.

Cleveland might not be "the mistake on the lake" any longer and probably does have several worthwhile tourist attractions. But of all the places to go and watch NFL games? It has to be near the bottom of the list for that...

Cutter, you attend Browns games? Wow, that almost makes me feel sorry for you.

Nope, never been, but I'd like to check out the Dog Pound. I always root for the underdog. Been doing some research on Cleveland and it seems like a pretty cool little burg. Lots of great architecture, food and drink. If you could make a living there real estate is crazy cheap.

I've said it before, I'll say it again -- it would be interesting to see how history will regard this time we live in. I'd love to take a history class on "US Politics 2000-2025" in say, 2200 or so. I can only hope it be looked back on as a naive time which we have risen above... (and yes, I realize that could have a right or left spin)

This will be seen as a second Dark Ages. Religious and racial extremism rampant across the entire globe, let alone the US, people deliberately ignoring scientific evidence world wide, the final clamp down of corporate power over most of human civilization. I doubt there will be anyone left alive to teach a history class in 2200, honestly.

Dammit I forgot to pick the game last night but would have went with the Browns. That was a nice comeback considering how bad they looked in the first half. I was actually supposed to be at that game last night but my stupid broshack's passport had expired so he had to reapply. Now he may not get it because of the potential mail strike here. Super. Looks like we'll have to find a game in October to attend. I'd actually like to check out Cleveland now.

Credit for consistency, it's pretty cool that Trent Reznor followed up an underwhelming EP with working on an adaption of some underwhelming source material.
