Can't believe no one mentioned The Longest Yard. I love that movie. He made a cameo in the remake as well.

J.J. McClure, you will be missed! And I would have love to see him on screen in Tarantino's next movie with Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, and Leo di Caprio.

RIP Jack Horner (what a comeback role)

Sharky's Machine and the Bandit movies are what is foremost in my mind when Burt is mentioned. RIP.

Charismatic is the perfect word for Burt. In his day he always looked like he was having fun, which was probably the case.

It's hard to think of anyone around today who even fits his type.

Yeah, a lot of people forget that he was one of the biggest stars of the 70s. I was always a big fan, and I think he was pop's fave actor. He more or less ruled the 70s. Sam Whiskey, White Lightning, Gator, Semi-Tough, Hooper, et al. One of my absolute favorites of his was The End. If you've never seen it, give it a watch.

He was a great star in many teenhood movies growing up.

Great career, life and WOMEN he had.

Cannonball Run and Smokey & the Bandit will need a refresher watch.

Surprised they didn't reference Smokey and the Bandit instead. That's where I remember him from.

I think he got a bunch of awards for boogie nights, nominated for academy award but didn't win.

He was seriously injured on the set of City Heat, was hit in the head with a steel chair that was suppose to be a break away stunt chair. Broke his jaw and messed him up for life.
