Chroma subsampling needs to go away just like interlacing needed to just go away. Dishonest marketing for both.

Finally I can say "I knew that before that PSA"

Specifically 4k 144hz HDR screens are a SCAM, they are neither HDR10 nor are they 4K (at 144hz) and the way 8bit panels are frequency averaged to 10bit is also scummy to the extreme.

It just boggles the mind that screen makers ship screens with those limitations fully knowing that what they sell CAN NOT function, the new standard for HDMI and DP is still miles away. Yes, the 1180 will use a new proprietary port, but these 4k 144hz monitors sold now don't support that and neither does any other monitor.......

It's good to finally have it said in clear what chroma subsampling actually does though, that is quite confusing otherwise.

I guess saying your monitor sort-of-kinda-not-really does 4k@144hz with 10bit HDR10 doesn't sell a $2k monitor. I also wonder if it has the effect of preventing/slowing the release of monitors that can actually meet the claims of these. 'Our new monitors are even more 4k 144 HDR than the previous model, for just $1k more!'

Store pages for products (Antlion Audio XLR Power Converter) count as "Tech Bits"?

It's pretty niche, but many people here use the modmic, and that is what it is made for. I don't know of any other headset for gaming/pc's that has an xlr adapter, so it is somewhat noteworthy, IMO.
