We haven't had a repeat incident with Jedi the Jindo since I wrote about the
recent incidents where he turned on the Gunnar-man. A couple of bits of advice
on the topic suggested this may just be play fighting for Jedi, and the more I
consider this, the more I believe it's correct. It pretty nicely explains the
paradoxical aspects of this, from why he would attack his best friend to why
Gunnar has escaped each time unharmed. Jedi has another doggie friend that's an
absolutely crazy poodle/sheepdog mix, and he roughhouses with her in a similar
way, and nobody thinks much of it because they are both so young and active.
Gunnar is dealing with this by being extra-cautious when everyone's off the
leash, but our walks continue to work fine, so I'm a little less alarmed by it
all at this point.

The Expanse is literally the only good sci-fi show on right now. How this can be canceled is absolutely beyond me.

Apparently SyFy only had first-run-rights to the Expanse. It was a shitty deal for them. Tons of money and they were really limited in how they could profit from it.
Did you really not like Altered Carbon? I haven't watched it, but I read the novel, and I was kinda iffy on that. But everyone seemed to love the Netflix series.

The series is based on the first book alone. There were some changes, but I thought it followed the book about as closely as you could expect. Both the book and the series were punctuated with violence and sex. This is neither good or bad, simply a matter of taste.

I have never watched The Expanse but really dig Altered Carbon. It is a great show in my opinion.
I liked Altered Carbon as well but it isn't a space opera like The Expanse. Which is what I really crave currently. Krypton is there, sure, but that's not really... I mean, they didn't even enter space once yet.
And with worse I mean the feeling. Altered Carbon was neat but it had no greater ambition behind it. Maybe a season 2 will change that.....
The first book barely touches on it, but one of the odd/interesting things in the "Altered Carbon" universe is humans have found significant evidence for a seemingly extinct but highly advanced Martian civilization. The "stack" technology is adapted from discovered Martian artifacts. All the planets which have been populated by humans were found via coordinates found in Martian relics. The second and third novels feature Martian technology much more prominently. I haven't seen much sci-fi which featured a significant Martian civilization outside maybe War of the Worlds and John Carter of Mars...

In the US, at least, I think the Red Cross and most local blood banks (mine, at least) make you wait eight weeks between whole blood donations. Platelets are once a week, plasma is twice a week.

At least theres still a chance that it gets picked up by others. But many other awesome shows didnt, so you cant be sure.
If this gets canceled and Discovery keeps going, I am losing my hope in humanity.
I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.

Did it twice a week for 3 1/2 years. But he donated blood, not plasma. You'd be surprised what a person is willing to do to help keep other people alive.

Mass Effect.... anyhow the show touched very little on this (much more interesting) element.
