We haven't had a repeat incident with Jedi the Jindo since I wrote about the recent incidents where he turned on the Gunnar-man. A couple of bits of advice on the topic suggested this may just be play fighting for Jedi, and the more I consider this, the more I believe it's correct. It pretty nicely explains the paradoxical aspects of this, from why he would attack his best friend to why Gunnar has escaped each time unharmed. Jedi has another doggie friend that's an absolutely crazy poodle/sheepdog mix, and he roughhouses with her in a similar way, and nobody thinks much of it because they are both so young and active. Gunnar is dealing with this by being extra-cautious when everyone's off the leash, but our walks continue to work fine, so I'm a little less alarmed by it all at this point.
