RAGE 2 Announcement Monday?

Bethesda has been on a bit of a tweet-storm, posting several teaser images on Twitter. The most recent is an image of folks going on an Anarchy tour, and VG247 notes the obvious connection to id Software's RAGE, which used the anarchy symbol in its logo. An image of Big Ben showing a time of 5:14 has prompted speculation that RAGE 2 will be announced at that time. This follows a recent leaked listing suggesting RAGE 2 is on the way.

Gameplay trailer dropped. Not gonna lie, it looks pretty good.

So, Mad Max without a license. Which is probably an improvement, meaning there are far fewer restrictions.

Will it still use the same shitty pop-in / ultra-low fidelity textures tech that was supposed to revolutionize gaming?

You do realize that Doom (2016) used the same tech but improved right? So why would Rage 2 (which of course will use the same id Tech 6 as Doom) go back to the original implementation of Megatextures?

I didn't play Doom. I know the pop-in was mostly fixed once everyone switched to SSDs, but didn't Doom suffer from some horrid textures up close as well?
Everything about Doom 2016 was 100% perfect. I am not kidding.

Except the god awful multiplayer

Aye. Playing the multiplayer beta for Doom gave me little hope for the game, but the single player carried it, thankfully. Far from 100% perfect with multiplayer like that.

If they were serious about improving Rage and considering all the feedback about it then I'd be willing to give Rage 2 a look.
The game was decent but could have used another year in development.

Also, the high end for graphics memory in gpus when rage came out was like 512mb. Now we're pushing 6gb+ vram in gpus.

Unless I am remembering wrong, I had my 460 GTX back then and it had a gig and was decidedly a mid-range card. Though I don't think it would have mattered either way for Rage.

Ignoring the tech, it wasn't all bad. Just a sort of OK shooter.

EDIT: After seeing Acleacius mention the mid-2000s I had to look it up. I am indeed not crazy. It was released in late 2010.

I remembered it being like 2008/2009. Never finished it though, oretty unmemorable game with fun moments every once in a while. I didnt have pop-in issues at launch

One of the most shallow games of the mid 2000s. Horrid engine (power to graphic ratio), invisible walls but fun driving for the most part. Think I'll wait till they issue a 50 gig graphic fix patch (that does jack shit), 3 years after release.

But... but... but... MEGATEXTURES, dude!!!! MEEEEEEEGGGAAAAAAAATEXTURES!!!111

Well, Id rather have seen some Wolfie 3 stuff at E3, but this will do, since they clearly have fixed the engine to work properly.

Gonna be my first and prolly only time to go to E3, so Im hoping to see some awesome shit.

I think Wolf2 sold somewhat poorly, so that Rage sold well enough for a sequel hopefully means it did, too. While I enjoyed the first, to an extent, I really feel the second lifted it into something much more entertaining.

Rage had some fun missions, and unlike most people I even quite liked the cars and such, but by and large it was a terribly forgettable experience.
It's one of those games I started several times but never finished.
The pop-in issue never bothered me that much (when you have a shitty pc you can overlook a lot of issues.

Will probably take a pass on numero dos.

You really shouldn't bother. Most of the games you want to see will only be shown to the press and for everything else, you'll spend hours waiting in lines. Everything shown at E3 will be put online sooner than later anyway. I've gone to E3 a few times and it felt like a waste of time every time.
