Exactly. All they want is to convince us to buy a Xbox anyway. They do not even acknowledge PC gamers as a thing. They are regarding as merely as potential Xbox customers.

Also, I will never ever buy anything gaming-related from a MS storefront again after the GFWL fiasco where they stole my legally purchased games (OK, one game -AoE 3- but still... ) from me.

Tbh the real problem is that most people probably don't even know how to get to it.

Ps.: And just to mention that, but the 1803 update for W10 reset my hosts file causing me tons of issues with my routing until I figured this out.. so yay.

Well gee, I wonder why people are all talking sarcastically about MS products....

Im still on update 1706, I turned off their bullshit updates. Any update after 1706 is pure shit.

If you guys want better control over Win 10. Use this tool. its awesome. Winareo Tweaker. Google it!!

Also, another way to control updates is this tool. Look for this file. wushowhide.diagcab it allows you to go in after updates are pulled and hide the ones you dont want installed. like how Win 7 would allow you to hide updates. I use both, Great stuff!!

I just post this reply from that site and I copied it to here...

The day that Microsoft lost the "APP Store" war on PC was the date they declined Valve to make a platform for PC games which was around 2002. Microsoft was not the only company declined Valve approached for a client network (for games). The other 2 were Yahoo! and RealNetwork and we can see how these 3 are doing now... The only reason MS still standing unlike the other 2 because of MS Servers and Office. MS never had "long vision". MS had been in "catch up mode" for decades. I bought my first digital copy PC game from Steam. I bought my first digital copy of music and movie in PC from iTune (APPLE). How ridiculous MS rival Apple had an online store APP in MS Windows MUCH SOONER than MS?

In 2013, I was asking myself "why do I need to drive to Best Buy, lineup to buy a plastic box which contain a card with a key code for Office 2013, then drive back home, turn on computer, download Office 2013 installer and input key code from card to activate MS Office 2013?". This is so a$$ backward even in 2013!!

Microsoft is 300000% deserve to lost the WHOLE APP store market. Where can you find an APP store that require a particular version build of the latest build of OS - Windows Store. ALL Windows store's competitor can work on multiple versions of MS Windows. Don't forget some digital stores (Steam, Uplay..) support non-MS OSes (Linux, OSX) with the same account.

The Store is the first thing I unpin from taskbar and delete the tile from the Win10 grid on a new PC. I'm expecting they will make it a permanent tile or something eventually...maybe even rebrand it. Or they could be like Origin and give away a free app/game every few months lol.

The real problem is that it breaks the windows paradigm. Right now there's this really weird mid-point for most users where their UX is informed by Apple (seriously, I have dozens of f*cking civil engineers who don't realize that a program can be installed on a computer without it being on the desktop. Thanks Apple!) and the windows paradigm of installing programs the old fashioned way.

Not to mention the full screen tablet version of windows that W10 tries to go into every time you launch an app makes me want to throw my computer against the wall. It's just easier to avoid it entirely. In fact I access the start menu as infrequently as I possibly can in W10. 99% of what I need can be found right-clicking it or searching.
