Out of the Blue

Today is the third April 15th in a row that is not the deadline for filing income taxes in the U.S. The deadline is Tuesday the 17th this year, which is actually early for recent history, as it was April 18th the past two years. This is due to a combination of weekends, and April 16th being a holiday in the District of Columbia. This seems to suggest the 15th is not the ideal date to use for this deadline, but I guess shuffling it around occasionally is no more complicated than making it the third Tuesday in April or some other contrivance. And it doesn't matter much here, as it's been a long time since I was one of those last-minute filers anyway.

It's more amazing when you learn that most of that scene was ad-libbed.
More like simply done from memory than ad-libbed, he was a DI for a decade.
In the second video it goes over how him and Stanley recorded a bunch of DI quips. A secretary transcribed it and then they went back and picked out the juiciest jabs.

Wow. The Minneapolis airport was closed down yesterday due to winter weather. I don't know about everyone else, but I would have assumed they handle winter weather fairly well there so the fact they closed says quite a bit.

They couldn't keep up. Was nasty. I drove wife and kid to Monster Energy Supercross at the US Bank Stadium, parked in 2 feet of snow on the curb. No issues there and back. Saw probably 50 cars in the ditch. Love having a Jeep. (ok Wife's Jeep)

/Hasn't stopped snowing in over 24 hours. Street had over 2 feet of snow. Shoveled 3-4 times already just to do it in parts. Good times I guess.

I feel ya. IIRC I'm just a little bit south of ya there. Every year at wintertime it seems like people are just learning how to drive again those first couple days of snow. Funny it's happening now too, after only being clear for like a month. I wonder how automated cars handle in extreme snowy conditions with white everywhere instead of being able to detect lines and stuff like it normally would. Do they default to 'just follow the flow of traffic, even if it leads you off a cliff'? GPS must be harder to use for automated-corrections in severe weather as well.

Ah that's a shame. I just watched FMJ a couple of days ago. Probably both my favourite 'Nam film and my favourite Kubrick film.

It's a winter wonderland here too. Went out briefly today and it was a cold mess out there. I'm assuming because all the winter vehicles had been put away as no one expected we'd need them in the middle of fucking April.
