Still no word from the local Trumpians... guess they must have turned off their computers and stopped going to gaming sites in order to please the God Emperor.
tRumpsters are flapping their flippers and barking but no one is throwing them any fish. It's a good thing.

There's an easy and fool-proof way to tell if anything related conservative/right-wing/Republican politics is true or not. If anyone calls it "fake news", you can be sure it's the solid truth

Almost all of that footage was out of context. Except for the Sniper games, those were totally in context, and the violence was really the only reason to play those games. At least for me. I tried the 3rd, hated it (for reasons I've mentioned here often enough), but did find the Romeo Must Die style kills kind of amusingly novel.

Moreover the majority of the clips were taken from cutscenes, scenes in which the player is only spectating. At which point they are not training players to be killers any more than watching movies does. Which is to say not at all. The one major exception is the civilian mass murder scene from Modern Warfare 2 where you are the active shooter. Which I still find to be in poor taste but contextually it had purpose in the game. But then again I found Hatred to be in even worse taste with zero context beyond "I hate the world and I'm so edgy!!" but that didn't stop me from playing it and even enjoying it slightly so....

I never went out and knifed innocent bystanders in the skull though.

Hatred looked irredeemable. It was made to show up on Fox News or CNN when it was inevitably found on some school shooter's HDD (not because it made him shoot, but because it was a game, and kids game.)

No Russian, though... I mean, it had its purpose in the game. It was there to add an emotional kick to the groin. To make you angry. Should they have stopped the player from being able to shoot? Maybe. Should it have been a cut scene? No, then you wouldn't have been part of it, and being part of it was mandatory.

Listen, I won't defend the plot of the MW games, because they're poorly told during loading screens that you try to skip, and because they're incomprehensible. But No Russians was actually well done, and smartly done, I think. In a better game, it would have been super powerful. In MW, it was lost, perhaps out of place, but it was definitely a memorable beat. You were undercover with terrorists. You did something awful. You let it happen "for the greater good." Mid-00s action was always about people doing awful things, or looking the other way, "for the greater good." Bourne was built on it.

That's some serious willpower. How were you ever able to overcome the psychopathy-causing influence of violent games?? You must be some kind of Zen master.

Warren, I'm officially pulling your gaming card.

And to think that they didn't even include Mortal Kombat! (NSFW. Cuz MK)
