Elon Musk invents bus stop, waits for applause, internet LOLs.

Tesla idea - good
SpaceX idea - good
Hyperloop idea - good
Underground busline - expensive and bad.

Once self driving cars become ubiquitous and cheap (no driver salary!) you will have smaller, more frequent busses. On the streets. Roads will be kept clear by both increased bus usage (due to their increased convenience) and probably regulation to keep cars off the road in cities.

And ya really don't think this hyper this and hyper that will be expensive.......gezzz

I'm sure hyperloop will be expensive, but given that as a country we've invested trillions in the airline industry (which generates 1.5 trillion per year in economic output, and 10 million jobs, both directly and related) there's room for a 500 MPH train that will be expensive to build, but cheaper to operate.

I gave Youtube TV a try. Had it for the initial 7 day free trial and let the first month roll in as well for $35.

I really wanted to like it but here's why I will cancel it:

1) Their DVR has mandatory ads. You cannot skip them and they take 2-3 minutes to suffer through several times during a 30 minute TV show. This only seems to be in what they consider "premium" TV shows so not in re-runs, but I mostly watch those anyways so for me that is extremely annoying. I often record TV shows on my TiVo purposely so I can skip commercials!

Does UBlock origin not work to block the commercials? It does for regular YouTube.

I have not tested it. I used my LG smart TV's YouTube TV app as well as my XBox One X's Youtube TV app so it would not help me anyways.

The YouTube TV's ads have a different kind of GUI marker compared to normal YouTube ads (which switch to "Skip Ad..." pretty soon). These will show at the top-left corner how many ads are still coming ("1/5" for example) and then below that a countdown timer on separate GUI element, so I would not be suprised if it would not.

2) Only stereo sound. I know this is nit-picking, but I have invested into a decent TV / receiver / speaker setup and stereo just does not cut it for me any more
3) The TV guide is very bad. It is clearly designed for 9" tablets or 5" phones, not a 65" 4K TV set. I would regard it as same a "Console port" on games. I watch TV in my living room, not on a tablet or a phone.
4) Fast forwarding / rewinding is implemented really badly. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime as well and they work nicely. YouTube TV does not.

You don't even have to read the article because it's in the title.

Once my current sat contract is up, Iíll have about a handful of tv streaming options to look through. Iíll save around 50%. Will have to see where my isp is at to with speed and limits. Today 1gbps and 1 Tera which is good but they could change for the worse possibly.

Cutter,

Right now your wishing people violent deaths on the forums is up here at about a 10... I'm going to need you to immediately bring that down a bit, to somewhere right around zero.

$35 a month for Youtube? Lol! You'd have to pay me to watch that dross.

Oh, look, Cutter is giving an uninformed opinion again. He didn't read the article, and doesn't know what it's talking about from other sources, so he's being super negative about something he wholly misunderstands. Ignorance, as per usual, in the form of excessively caustic comments.

What is the reading thing you so eloquently speak of? Shifty

Thing is, I can't even keep up with the content I want to watch on Netflix and Prime already.

I need Hulu. Archer and Bob's Burgers were my go-to comfort shows, for when I had ~15-20 minutes to watch, and they're off Netflix.

Otherwise, I hardly watch any shows on either. Marvelous Mrs. Maizel was one of the best shows I've watched in ages, but it's not rewatchable. Otherwise? I'm probably down to watching less than 3 hours of anything a week. There's just nothing I want to sit in a chair for 30-60 minutes for.
