Out of the Blue

The recent bout of constarrhea suffered by the Gunnar-man was followed by a much more disturbing development, as he started pooping a little blood. His backside also was smelling terrible, which is saying something, since "smells like ass" has become a benchmark for other stenches. This was quite worrisome, since most of the things that would cause bleeding like this in an older dog are quite serious. We were therefore extremely grateful that this turned out to be a simple infected anal gland. Gunnar had to spend yesterday afternoon at the vet, which would not be his first choice for a good time, but the treatment he received should clear up the infection, and it seems obvious he is feeling much better already. Whew.

Yeah, glad Gunnar is ok...my roommate's wiener-dog (Dachshund) goes to the cleaners every other month and they clean out the ol' anal glands. I didn't know that was a 'thing' until then and I've been very hesitant to look it up online to see what it all involves, tho I am slightly curious. I mean, it can't be worse than watching pimple popping and tumor extractions all day on Youtube...I hope... Puke
