Anybody who thought it would actually be done in 2015 was seriously naive. To be honest, I'm surprised it was even finished at all. $400k is nowhere near enough to fully develop a 3D, open-world RPG. Granted, they claimed that the Kickstarter funding would be used to develop a prototype and convince investors to provide actual funding, but that's always a dubious proposition. Kudos to them for actually following through.

Wow... Witcher 3 still going strong. Heres hoping those that just bought it play more than 20 hours worth to realize they are taking part in probably the greatest game ever made.

Well, they don't. We can see in the gameplay videos that combat and animations are clunky as fuck. It's terribad.

There is still hope though that maybe they got the quests, the writing, the politics and the characters right.

Oh well... as usual I won't be touching this before there is a GOTY on sale. Maybe they will have even unclunkified the combat by then and added some more layers of polish. I'm only cautiously optimistic. Everything I have seen so far looked underwhelming.

I like the realism angle in theory, but as mentioned it's very easy for it to be too realistic, to the point of not being fun. Or like you spend so much time and effort realistically portraying one aspect or another and then the rest of the game sucks because there's no content or it's super buggy. It sounds like the type of game that would really benefit from mod support, so hopefully that's in there... Definitely a wait and see situation.

That kingdom come game looks like it could either be awesome or extremely boring/tedious. Going to follow along with release and days that follow.

It's freakin' awesome. Very hard, but fun. The Dev adds new features every week or two. It's still in Early Access.
