Playing the original scenario through again coop, then moving to The Following. I can see nice improvements to the base game since my first play-through a couple years back. This has to be one of the best executed games ever. A real treat to play. For the comments above not liking it, I wonder if we are playing the same game? A mod or two can surely shore up some personal problem areas.

I liked Dying Light, but hated The Following (their expansion). There was no way to "summon" my car, so I always ended up without it, which made it a running simulator. The best thing of DL was the parcouring, so I never understood why they replaced that with wide open fields and a stupid buggy that wasn't around when you needed it to.

Love Dying Light, and their ongoing support for it is awesome. (even if all the free content is of little/no use in the actual game itself, or just stupidly hard to get.)

I did get a few mods for a while, but the game is perfectly playable without them. Weapon degradation is only a concern for the first few hours, imo.

This was one of the worst games I've ever played or bought. It was okay for about an hour and then the missions just get worse and worse. Boring soundtrack, boring story, boring game play, boring graphics, boring weapons, boring characters, boring plot, boring side quests. Buying this game even on sale was a bad mistake. Never buying anything from these devs ever again. Thumbsdown

That was me with Dead Island. I never bothered with this for that reason. Even though they're different games, it's just clear this part of the genre isn't really for me.

I enjoyed Dying Light a lot, but when I had finished the main + DLC stories I felt it was just about enough and I could uninstall feeling satisfied. Bought on sale, so lots of value for money.

Dying Light is a game that requires mods to not be annoying as hell (mainly weapon/vehicle degradation prevention mods, inventory size mods), but they broke the mods with the last few patches, so...

Uninstalled for good.

I haven't played for a long time. Did they ever make the car not break down (or need gas) every 5 minutes? That was my biggest complaint. I eventually started walking everywhere, which didn't last long before I quit.

Lol, apparently they have a new game coming out soon, but there's been so little coverage of it that it's not even listed on their Wikipedia page: https://gematsu.com/2017/08/techland-announces-gods-trigger-ps4-xbox-one-pc

Looks like some low budget filler to make some money while they continue working on Dying Light 2 or Hellraid or whatever. Or it's just the next thing they're publishing and that's not made very clear.

It's great that they've continued supporting the game so long after launch. That's a pretty rare thing for AAA single-player games. That said, it's probably time to announce a sequel.
