ESA Rebukes President Trump

The Entertainment Software Association has stepped into the fray with President Trump after his widely reported comments about immigration where the POTUS allegedly decried those who emigrate from "shithole" countries. Polygon has the following response from the ESA:
"America’s greatness is built on our diversity," reads the ESA’s statement. "The president’s repulsive comments undermine the fundamental values of who we are as a country. There is no place in our society for this type of backward thinking, and we condemn it in the strongest terms."

I looked at the site right now, and I see no left or right leaning anywhere, sounds like most of the reporting done on there is based on facts from other sources (A thing both wing supporters seem to be allergic to though)

And Trump isn't attacked on there, he is fact checked though, like everyone else. If that is a dem leaning website the democratic party in your mind must be a pretty weird nearly neutral hybrid

Yes, the original page was put up in 2011. However, if you read it, you'll note not far into it that the information is current as of October 31, 2017.

So rather than show fact and cite sources, you just proclaim that you see no bias? Well then, I guess that settles that. =P

Not sure what you just said, because that wasn't English. As far as me being a shill or whatnot, I've been here about 14 years longer than you son. By your logic, my signing up for an account on bluesnews is an 18 year conspiracy that culminated in this moment right here.

Being pro immigration doesn't mean you're pro "let everyone in"

Why do you need to be pro-immigration when there aren't enough jobs to go around as it is? Look at the abuse that's rampant out there saying there aren't enough qualified people to work in XYZ field when it's patently untrue. There's zero shortage of qualified workers and and a surplus of cheap labor employers who want people to work for nothing.

Min wage just went up to $14 an hour here and business owners are freaking out. There's been protests at Timmies because multi-millionaire and billionaire owners of some of the franchises slashed their benefits and are punishing the workers in all manner of ways. And they're complaining how unfair it is to them. Millionaires and billionaires complaining how hard done by they are. Are you fucking kidding me? That's the reality of what's going on. Sorry but our countries are full. They'll just have to figure out how to make it work wherever they live because things are still getting worse here without them adding to the woes. Where do you think we're going to be in 5? 10? 20? years from now with automation/AIs? Better or worse? I'm thinking a metric shit ton worse. The world's future looks rather grim at this point.

This is the problem with most discourse on the internet. Not picking a fight, just pointing out a fact. You linked to a horribly left leaning, democrat funded website and use that as your basis of "fact" without taking into consideration the source.

Of course Politifact is going to say that the right leaning news organization is wrong most of the time. It's called control.

Politfact is run by the Tampa Bay Times. They've been analyzed and given a rating of unbiased.. Where are you getting that they are funded by the Dems?

Also..

America is not built on "diversity" that is a modern bunch of garbage leftists created to undermine the country like morons.

America is built on individuality and the freedom to be who and what you want to be based on your drive and tenacity. The diversity these leftist POS's throw around doesn't even mean close to the same thing.

another thing...

We should be working to import the best and the brightest even from a shithole country. not the lowest common denominator in order to line the voting tallies of the socialist democraps.

I repeatedly get the impression you're not exactly the most successful poster here.

Lol, if that's the bar for being right, it's pretty fucking low...

So the option is kowtow to the accepted opinion or freely express your own opinions despite the fact that it might make you unpopular with those that believe they have the moral high ground? For anyone with integrity, there is no choice.

What's braver, following the company line or speaking out? Pro tip Beamer, insulting people for their beliefs and opinions didn't work at the last election and isn't likely to work at the next... If the regressive left (and yeah, imo you qualify) isn't willing to live it's principles of diversity ie. accept diversity of thought, they will continue to alienate the centrists that, by virtue(signal) of people getting further to the left, actually look right wing... Swing voters who might actually toss out the Trump are being shooed away because they aren't as extreme as you want them to be.

Trump is completely unsuited to being the POTUS, but he's not wrong. These countries are shitholes, and the only people adding a racial element are the left. Would you want to live there? If the worst place in the US is better than the country of origin, it's a shithole... And imo it's refreshing to hear a politician actually express an opinion rather than indulge in political weasel words.

I do, however, notice that few people hesitate when pointing the finger and screaming bigot, racist, homophobe, misogynist, nazi... Yeah, you could make the point that the POTUS should be above that, but that hasn't really worked to date. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

ps. Funny how few ever consider that the best and brightest who flee their home countries are likely the ones actually needed to pull those countries out of the holes they are in. Immigration gives people a chance of a better life, but it also skims the cream of the crop. The old 'cruel to be kind' adage applies here, these are the people that could usher in a new age for their nations. If they had assistance dismantling dictatorships and corrupt governments, they might actually manage to pull their country in to the 21st century.

Not saying the U.S. is paradise by any means, but the point is it's not like the solution to the problems countries like Haiti face is to just move everyone living there to the U.S. That's a terrible simplistic notion. The better avenue is to use our wealth to help those people in their communities make changes for the better.

P.S. What Trump said was terrible from a political standpoint, which is his usual "problem." Though I put problem in quotes because his no bullshit speaking style is exactly what his core base love him for.

Whoa folks, almost as entertaining as an SC thread.

Every 4 years in America, back and forth.

Anyways, someone earlier said 'half of America voted for Trump' when actually a little less than half of America didn't voted for anybody. It is Minority rule here.

Trump supporters see Fake News boogiemans everywhere. God I hate that term, "Fake News." Just remember "Fake News" is how many in America are constantly duped into wars for a few decades now. Meanwhile, Democrats see Russian boogeymen under their beds. Its all such a Circus man, I'm telling ya.

Yes, Trump is racist. Not sure why that is shocking? His supporters care little in the way Obama supporters looked the other way when droned some folks. It just goes both ways.

Also, neither side of this recent slip by Trump are talking about the last parts of his recent back pedaling tweetledumbs, which are quoted as: "I want to fund our military, not do a Dem defund..." There is a big issue right there, America is so deep in debt from over spending in Military now for many decades that's it coming back to haunt future generations to be saddled with debt forever. This is unsustainable. Would people be shouting about welfare if this country spent all that military spending on social uplift instead? This country is drowning and the underlying issue is not better under Trump - the Empire continues only now with a more in your face clown. And Trump is wrong, the "Dems" want that Military gravy train to continue.

I don't think anyone is calling for "no border."
Though many, myself included, are calling for an easier process, for the same reason we call for legalizing marijuana. We're spending a fortune on combating something very inefficiently, we're hurting good people while making it easy for bad people to skirt the law, and throwing more money at the problem seems incredibly unlikely to do much more than waste a lot of money.

There are absolutely many calling for no borders. Read the signs at the protests and whatnot, follow the "resistance" leaders on Twitter. No borders is one of their key slogans and goals, and the desire to prevent that is one of the key slogans and goals of the Trump/Brexit/French National Front shit. It's really all about globalism versus nationalism in my opinion. I'm over here saying globalism is a good goal over time but the Left-leaning politicians are trying to do it way too fast and sloppy.

What's funnier is Trump and his supporters will cite this country as an example, even though it's one of the most socialist countries in Europe (with a very comprehensive nanny-state). And they enjoy one of the highest standards of living on Earth, i highly doubt any of them would want to emigrate to a shithole like the USA. Oh, how do you Trump supporters feel being called a shithole ?
