ESA Rebukes President Trump

The Entertainment Software Association has stepped into the fray with President Trump after his widely reported comments about immigration where the POTUS allegedly decried those who emigrate from "shithole" countries. Polygon has the following response from the ESA:
"America’s greatness is built on our diversity," reads the ESA’s statement. "The president’s repulsive comments undermine the fundamental values of who we are as a country. There is no place in our society for this type of backward thinking, and we condemn it in the strongest terms."

This is the reality of unchecked immigration. It takes an astounding amount of arrogance to assume that you can just assimilate millions of people to your way of life without consequences. These countries have their own cultures, social norms and religions. In their absurd zeal to Save The World, people never stop to think about whether it's a good idea or if they're even compatible in the first place.

On a societal level, we want to take skilled immigrants who have something to offer our way of life. In a crisis situation we need to act responsibly in taking in refugees which we did unlike Europe.

In the USA, immigrants have lower crime rates compared to natural born U.S. citizens.

That being said, I disagree with the way Europe went about things. While I appreciate the sentiment of wanting to help the maximum number of people, you can't bring in millions of people in a single year, and expect them to integrate into your country. You can't provide jobs for those people, or housing, or other services when you have such a huge spike like that. And we're seeing the poor results and the backlash.

What is funny on this forum, is that the seemingly liberal posters will always be the first to drop to personal attacks. Way to keep it classy.

In 1970, the US population was 90% white. Today is is approaching 50% and falling. The election of Trump has nothing to do with the "PC left" and everything to do with whites feeling that they're "losing" the country to "the other." It's the last gasps of white privilege and the idea that, to be American one must be white, preferably male. I say that as a white male living in a region that is only 25% white, yet is economically thriving with almost no racial strife. Humans are humans, and the thing that makes a strong economy is education level. When humans have a good education, they become moral, secular, and empathetic, regardless of race.

Are you a right-wing American, by any chance? Do you have any specific examples of these shitholes? Do you think criminals targeting tourists is new or exclusive to Europe? Can you think of any reason why the people who have next to no chance of getting support from cities might want to scare people into mistrusting cities?

It was lovely. How I long for those carefree days of my childhood, guessing if the gunfire was paramilitary or police/army by the length of the bursts. How I long for the good old days when things across Europe were objectively worse.

Read my reply. On Politifact's own website and an Op Ed by the donor himself.
From 2011

I looked at the site right now, and I see no left or right leaning anywhere, sounds like most of the reporting done on there is based on facts from other sources (A thing both wing supporters seem to be allergic to though)

And Trump isn't attacked on there, he is fact checked though, like everyone else. If that is a dem leaning website the democratic party in your mind must be a pretty weird nearly neutral hybrid

Yes, the original page was put up in 2011. However, if you read it, you'll note not far into it that the information is current as of October 31, 2017.

So rather than show fact and cite sources, you just proclaim that you see no bias? Well then, I guess that settles that. =P

Well as a German I have no bias to any of your political stuff So yeah, in fact I can proclaim there is no bias, but I did not, I said I don't see any bias Though I will grant you that they have, like nearly all media, a hard-on for fact checking anything involving Trump and his various more or less mentally stable party dudes. Is that what you mean with bias? While it is certainly a political direction the site is leaning in, that itself is NOT bias. Assuming they fact check correctly. And what happens on v/b/logs is irrelevant. Only relevant parts are the actual editorialized content.

Ps.: Bias is highly subjective. If you have proof they fact check wrongly or can explain to me why you see that then I will maybe see it differently.... just saying.. currently I don't see it. Clicked a few on their "fact checks" and it was mostly .. boring.. irrelevant US politics. What a surprise huh. ;p

This is the problem with most discourse on the internet. Not picking a fight, just pointing out a fact. You linked to a horribly left leaning, democrat funded website and use that as your basis of "fact" without taking into consideration the source.

Of course Politifact is going to say that the right leaning news organization is wrong most of the time. It's called control.

Again, sources. Where are your sources that Politifact is "democrat funded?"
Please cite a source that isn't very clearly biased, such as The Blaze.

Here you go, Politifact's own website. Politifact
Democracy Fund was started by Pierre Omidyar, EBay founder. Huffington Post Op Ed by Pierre OmidyarDemocracy fund also was a major donor of the HRC campaign.

All using left leaning sources.

Edited for format

None of the links you posted supports your claim. "Who pays for Politifact" shows a variety of sources, most of which fund other media outlets, none of them left wing. The Democracy Fund also supports nonpartisan clients exclusively: Aspen Institute, Pew, Bipartisan Policy Center, etc. And third party evaluations of Politifact return unbiased ratings.

As for that Op Ed, he's advocating for transparency and effectiveness in government. How are those things left wing? And any smart person would donate to HRC to prevent a Trump presidency. You don't need to be left wing for that, just smart.
