ESA Rebukes President Trump

The Entertainment Software Association has stepped into the fray with President Trump after his widely reported comments about immigration where the POTUS allegedly decried those who emigrate from "shithole" countries. Polygon has the following response from the ESA:
"America’s greatness is built on our diversity," reads the ESA’s statement. "The president’s repulsive comments undermine the fundamental values of who we are as a country. There is no place in our society for this type of backward thinking, and we condemn it in the strongest terms."

another thing...

We should be working to import the best and the brightest even from a shithole country. not the lowest common denominator in order to line the voting tallies of the socialist democraps.

An excellent point--your location and your birthplace don't define your merit. The president's statement implies that one nationality of people are inherently incapable of having a "best and brightest" when compared to another.

I have worked directly with skilled people from all over the world, and it is my personal experience that greatness in diversity comes from accepting exceptional people of every kind instead of rejecting someone due to traits that are irrelevant to the task at hand. If we only allowed brown haired or left handed people to contribute, we would be missing an opportunity.

On another note, modern politics has become a set of pep rallies where people shout slogans at each other from both sides. I hope that even when thinking of that evil "socialist democrap" cartoon character you always know that there are more than two spots in the spectrum of opinion. IMO the best political discussion involves narrowing down exactly what you think is best by looking deeply at why people have other opinions in addition to what those opinions look like in bold font.

Hey, I'm willing to talk. But if you're so scared and scarred of a little discussion that you're preemptively dismissive, then you're the one who's triggered. Keep on hiding behind these supposed "facts" of yours.

Edit: Here's a free fact for you Beaver: Trump erroneously tries to blame a 2008 UK embassy move on Obama. Now tell me Beaver, does the facts point to Trump being a liar or just a dumbass? You decide.

What facts?
Give us facts and see how we respond.

Generally, you give opinions like "immigrants are bad!" That isn't a fact!
You're also bad at recognizing things. I remember you claiming NBC said "all" gamers were racist. They didn't do this.

Also a fact: you once claimed that you *need* to call people "fags" and the n word in games in order to prevent damage to yourself and those around you. That... is kind of scary and really should be your signature. People should know that about you.

The conservative establishment fought him yes, but the moment he became the GOP nominee the conservatives lost their balls and sucked up. You have more sycophants like Christie than people like McCain. The fact that the majority of conservatives stoop so low as to continually support Trump is what's sad.

So what good *is* Trump doing?
With DACA, he basically said he'll sign whatever. He did mostly the same with taxes - said he'd sign whatever. What has he personally done? What impact has he made?

Other than drastically lowering the discourse in the country and the behavior we expect from our leaders?

Even his best idea, infrastructure, has gone nowhere. There's no room for it in the new tax system, and with his "repeal everything Obama did," he pulled the funding earmarked for fixing the rail tunnels into NYC that were damaged from Sandy. These are expected to fail in no less than 7 years, crippling this region. It's arguably the most important piece of infrastructure in our country. But hey, Obama thought it was important, so lets kill it!

Nice try, but won't happen. People are so brainwashed that Trump is crazy that they can't see all the good he's doing. Keep repeating leftist garbage.

You don't need to be brainwashed. All you need to do is read Trump's twitter and you'll realize that the guy's a unhinged, narcissistic, racist, ignorant, lying, sexist, hypocritical fuckwad. The fact that conservatives stooped so low to support him is what's sad for America.

I like how people say immigrants want to sponge off the system. The American system might be better then some countries but its trash and inhuman in some other countries by comparison. Mostly they go to the US cause they have Family their and they want to live the American dream. Or at least the lies and crap movies tell them is the dream.

Also I like the Norway thing. Norway is like one of the best countries to live in. They would need massive incentive to go to give that up and go to the US. So Trump might tout that idea as getting better people. But the better people know better then to immigrate to the US already.

I rarely say good things about Trump, but it isn't unheard of. But no matter what he does, he was still unqualified from consideration due to his personality and antics, this feels like a "Deal with the Devil" to me. So yes he can get some things right'ish, but it is at very unprobable he can get to levels on redemption with me and more of "a broken clock is right twice a day". Can anyone really bat .000?

He does have some points, but he's all wrong in delivery to me.

This said, since big US companies are not paying their taxes and some rich folks manage to pay less taxes than poor folks thanks to their tax councellors;, yet those companies can count on governments to educate their employees, they ship their goods on government-maintained roads but they won't wanna pay their share, these guys are the real sponges of the system.

The whole world has given up on the dotus? LoL. Your comments have no basis in reality do they? Half of America voted for Donald Trump because they're smart enough to realize that people coming here to sponge off the system will only weigh it down more. You do understand that when more people are sponging off the welfare system than the amount of people supporting it, that it will eventually collapse? That's just common sense for Gods sake.

If everyone is consuming and no one is producing, eventually there will be nothing left to consume. Please correct me where I am wrong.

1) "Half of America" did not vote for Trump. 63 million people did, out of 210 million potential voters

2) The thing is, many of those people are absolutely heavier sponges on the system than the people they're angry at. Red States tend to take a larger share of federal spend and Red States have a much higher percentage of people on food stamps. Not to mention, Trump won largely in the blue collar rural areas. Guess where welfare is among the highest? Guess where medicaid is amongst the highest?

So these people whine about "sponges" when they typically ARE sponges. They whine about uneducated, unskilled foreign labor stealing their jobs, but if someone that can't speak English and has no skills can take your job, what does it say about you? Democrats had plans to fix the education and skill level in those areas, but it was widely rejected in favor of "bring back the jobs we had in the 80s," but those jobs had 30 years to leave. They won't come back any time soon, because they moved to places with far larger infrastructure than we ever had - even if the costs were the same the efficiency overseas is so high we'd need decades of training and building to get close. No company is interested in investing in that. Not to mention, coal is weirdly a big talking point when no energy buyer wants to buy coal. There is zero demand for it, so the jobs disappeared, and that demand isn't, and won't, come back. Much like the demand for telegraph operators has died. Better to train in new skills.

But they voted against that...
