ESA Rebukes President Trump

The Entertainment Software Association has stepped into the fray with President Trump after his widely reported comments about immigration where the POTUS allegedly decried those who emigrate from "shithole" countries. Polygon has the following response from the ESA:
"America’s greatness is built on our diversity," reads the ESA’s statement. "The president’s repulsive comments undermine the fundamental values of who we are as a country. There is no place in our society for this type of backward thinking, and we condemn it in the strongest terms."

MAN that is twisting of reality.

There was a camera. I watched the video. HuffPo even wrote an article on it. Took 10 seconds to google.

He said that due to the heat and humidity, you could smell sweaty tourists in the capital building.

Which sure, we can get upset about it (also nice whataboutism) but at least f*cking get it right.

This has absoutely nothing to do with the diversity of this country, you buffoon. The only backward thinking I see is from you, ESA president.

Hey, if we're calling corrupt governments with rampant self-dealing and nepotism "shithole" governments...

We kind of by definition *have* to call Trump's administration a shithole.

"Why wont they see things my way?!" isn't really going to get you anywhere in this political climate. Just go find someone electable and support them in 2020. Get involved in local politics. Donate actual money to a political campaign. Trying to brow beat Beaver into agreeing with you is uh LOL. He's trolling you anyway, he believes none of it.

I guess they could stage some sort of bizarre impeachment scenario though on what grounds, I have no idea. Then we'll get....President Pence. I'm not sure people are being careful about they wish for here

I guess that's expected from GOP politicians; only those at the end of their careers can truly say what they think. I guess I'm just more disappointed by the blind partisanship of the conservative voters. I.e. Beaver's complete lack of self awareness and ironic hypocrisy would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

I think, to quote John Boehner, we need to truly bottom out before people realize we need change. I don't mean Trump, though he could be the bottom (anything worse and we're basically doomed, no?) I mean our entire political scheme as a whole.

Someone yesterday posted this article on Facebook (see, it does have good points) about a rural Democrat in Indiana. I disagree with that Senator on most of his social points. Which is ok. The only thing that really bothered me was him being cautious about homosexuality forcing beliefs on people, when banning it is basically just that. That's mild, though, as what he said can be taken many ways and I won't assume the worst.

The point being, he's a Democrat that doesn't toe the line. He wants to represent his constituents (perhaps to a fault in some regards), rather than represent his party. He wants to do what he feels is right and best for his people (and the country, I assume), not what will make MSNBC happy.

to Boehner's point, we need to get back to people falling to parties based on high level beliefs, not every single belief. Politicians and people both.

He was complaining about the people coming from the "shithole" countries, not the countries themselves. If he hadn't been talking about immigrants, but say, infrastructure or crime rates, you might have a point there. It would still be wildly inappropriate, but it wouldn't necessarily be racist.

But as with everything, context matters. He was talking about immigrants, and has a history of saying and doing things that could be construed as racist by a reasonable person.

You don't have to be spouting racial slurs and burning crosses to be a racist.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

It's because there is no valid defense of Trump except if you're a hardline Republican who just needs someone in the big chair who will sign literally anything Ryan and Mitch "The Turtle" McConnell shits out.

But even in that instance, they'd still be better off with Jeb! or the Zodiac Killer in there.

Trump is objectively not qualified to be President. You don't even need to rely on the media to know this. You can just watch unedited video of him speaking. The guy is feeble-minded, has zero knowledge of policy or even his own administrations positions on various issues, and sounds like a complete fucking retard. There is no context that makes it okay, or media spin to you can reverse to explain it away. This isn't just me being a partisan hack. None of what I say would apply to Mitt Romney, Jeb!, Zodiac Killer, or even Mike Pence.

What's funnier is Trump and his supporters will cite this country as an example, even though it's one of the most socialist countries in Europe (with a very comprehensive nanny-state). And they enjoy one of the highest standards of living on Earth, i highly doubt any of them would want to emigrate to a shithole like the USA. Oh, how do you Trump supporters feel being called a shithole ?
