ESA Rebukes President Trump

The Entertainment Software Association has stepped into the fray with President Trump after his widely reported comments about immigration where the POTUS allegedly decried those who emigrate from "shithole" countries. Polygon has the following response from the ESA:
"America’s greatness is built on our diversity," reads the ESA’s statement. "The president’s repulsive comments undermine the fundamental values of who we are as a country. There is no place in our society for this type of backward thinking, and we condemn it in the strongest terms."

In fairness to Trump, he announced last week that he was holding this on 1/17, so you missed him moving them.
But I'd wager this is what the bulk of his time has been spent on, rather than any form of policy.

Well the reality is if all those people from all those countries come here than it's going to be just as shitty here.

How does that follow at all? Immigrants come here all the time and make decent lives for themselves. They go to school, get jobs, raise families. Why does them coming from a war-torn place mean that suddenly the US will be a worse place for having them here?

GOP thinking is always strong on a shallow level, all off the cuff, bar thinkers. What you said, quickly sounds reasonable. But we hire from different places, tech/medicine we are looking for the best. But there are a lot of service jobs and you can't get their best for that, hello? So you match qualifications. Love how we just assume, low end scum coming over and they all just do nothing, all for American entitlements. You are dreaming that up yourself and don't twist that now, some do and there are crooks everywhere. Some of their best, can be crooks on a much grander scale, than their worst.

I believe Senator Durbin who was actually in the meeting and confirmed what Trump said. He's about ten thousand times more credible than Trump himself, who lies constantly, verifiably, and about everything.

Do you really expect anyone to believe a word out of Trump's mouth? Especially if it's contradicted by someone more reputable?
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

They're not, that's why you're reading this on a gaming site. Removing lootboxes, sadly, isn't really their job until publishers say it is.

Do you agree with Donald Trump's claim that more people attended his inauguration than Obama's?

Please, just one bit of news from them that was incorrect and remains uncorrected.

I've already cited, several times, our own President giving us incorrect information on Twitter, just this week. In case you didn't read it in this lengthy thread, he said that he didn't go to the UK because of a bad deal Obama made. Sadly for us, this was misinformation, deliberately or mistakenly, as it was Bush that made the deal.

So there, I've given you an example of Trump giving us "fake news." Your turn to back your claim. Frankly, I expect we just never see you again, like every other person we ask to show us "fake news" on CNN.

Regardless, nothing mentioned here has come solely from CNN. Hell, the WSJ just broke news about Trump paying off Stormy Daniels in 2006. I'm sure you'll either say CNN's coverage of this is "fake news" and write it all off, or somehow wiggle and say News Corp is "fake news."

It's not just his base though. It seems to be emboldening crackpots here in Canada too. Just this morning an 11 year old girl got attacked while walking to school outside of Toronto where a man tried to cut of her hijab with scissors.

TWICE!

And the voices against 'others' seem to have gotten louder and bolder since he took office.

Yep, those dang Haitians just gotta suck it up after a hurricane and we should ignore that little fact about the UN being partially responsible for the cholera outbreak. fuck-em, amirite

As for people fleeing a war-torn country, words cannot describe.

Well the reality is if all those people from all those countries come here than it's going to be just as shitty here. They have to fix their own countries. Look at Syria several million men of fighting age have fled the country. If they're not willing to stand up for what's right in their own country what makes you think they'll do the same any place else? No one needs that sort of fair weather citizen who'll jump ship the moment things get tough. It's not like the first world didn't go through it's own internal strife and conflict to get where it got to. There was a lot of blood and lives shed in order for that to happen. It sucks, but reality does most of the time.

Not really, Trump basically stole the nomination and bulled his way into the presidency. The Conservative establishment fought him every step of the way until it was too late to do anything. Trump essentially hijacked the Republican party and made utter fools of the Dems as well.

Nah... Trump didn't steal the GOP nomination. Trump is the end result of 30 years of evangelical zeal fused with talk radio and fox news. Trump isn't an anomaly, he's the Kwisatz Haderach of this generation's conservatives: The end result of their mostly unintentioned breeding program.

His secret is pretty simple. He's giving people the permission to be sociopaths and has relieved his base from the weight of shame and guilt. That's why his base loves him. He makes it okay to indulge in any anti-social impulse that comes along.

That...is brilliantly said. I don't think it could be summed up any better.

Then lets let all these bleeding hearts move to Haiti and tell us how great it is. Trump called Haiti a shithole, that's no different than calling Detroit a shithole.

Man, the media sure is twisting the weak minds of the populace.

You're also missing the part where he asked if we could just "get rid" of all the Haitians in the US.

Dude's a straight-up racist.

I thought he meant "take them out [of what we're discussing]," not remove them from the country.

Regardless, it was him again saying derogatory things about a country full of non-white people in a way he's never done about a country full of white people. Even when he does criticize predominantly white countries, he's usually singling out the non-white people in it.

It's a pattern. But I get it. To some, someone isn't racist unless he says "I hate people of this race," or "white people are superior." Even then, it's often written off as "just trolling."
Somehow, we hit the point where being called racist is worse than saying things almost definitely racist.

America is built on individuality and the freedom to be who and what you want to be based on your drive and tenacity. The diversity these leftist POS's throw around doesn't even mean close to the same thing.

Funny, that "built on individuality and freedom" thing is a bunch of garbage that a couple neoliberals ginned up back in the 30's and 40's.
