I think the problem is people just vote for the popular name, or they just vote without really caring because they just want the trading card.
I had not played any of the games i voted for. The only way for this award to have any semblance of meaning would be if you had each game in your inventory, and even then it does not mean you played it.
You haven't played Witcher 3? You heathen!
Woah, i preferenced it by sayin "the ones i voted for".
But to be honest i own w3 but have not played it (also bought the goty version) so somethings got to give.

To be honest too, I only guessed based on your comment that you didn't play it yet voted for it from hearsay. If there's 1 thing to say about W3 it's that choices really do matter ,p

Just Cause 3 won a freaking award?

It should have been "Most disappointing follow up to an awesome game."

Man, Warframe used to be so good. The gameplay still is, but holy shit is it a grind unless you pay for platinum! I think I've got something like 1500 hours and hundreds of dollars in it. Still nowhere near having all the equipment and frames.

I lucked out and got a 75% off Platinum discount on log in and that pretty much helped me iron out a lot of what otherwise would have taken ages and had up until that point to get Mesa but once you dip in to the "end game" where Primes reside you're pretty much at the mercy of RNG while hoping you're not the only person who puts a relic up.

Cuphead has best soundtrack, over Nier and Transistor?

Yeah, right.

I thought that was odd too. Voted for Transistor myself. I think the problem is people just vote for the popular name, or they just vote without really caring because they just want the trading card.

Surprised to see Evil Within 2 win an award given how poorly it sold. Then again, it was the only mainstream game among the nominees so I guess it won by default. That's not to say EW2 is a bad game. Quite the contrary, actually. However, these awards are generally given to the games with the highest profiles and not necessarily the games that actually deserve them.
