Looks like it's very hardcore. I might like it. PUBG is too arcadey for me. |

If you've ever played in the Dark Zone from the Division ?.... amp that up to even more hardcore level with a clunkier controls & worse netcode/ server issues w/ no way to tell who is hacking or not and then you are getting close to describing EFT !
Just like PUBG , this isn't really my style of 'fun' .?. to play.
IF it had some kind of SP mode and better enemy AI's or something else to it, then it might be great for me...but it doesn't |

I've had it since pre-alpha.. it doesn't seem like it's changed a ton.
It's VERY hardcore, and severely punishing/unforgiving.
Taking a serious loadout or modifying a weapon with multiple attachments requires a lot of specific weapon modding/parts (rails etc). Even a pistol is highly lethal. Per-limb damage/injury system. Scroll wheel to change your movement speed (affecting sound). Very easy to lose everything that you take with you in a match as well (plus you can't just quit a match, you have to extract, or you lose it all).
Not for the faint of heart. It's cool, it's scary and it's intense. Also server issues, and I'm also having framerate stability issues, but it's very playable.
I'd say you have to be serious and enthusiastic about military simulators as well as something like DayZ. I might have one extra 7-day code to give out, but I'll have to check with my friends first. |

I tried playing it today for the first time. It's pretty fucking hardcore to get into. First up, there's no fucking map until you buy one, so good luck losing all of your gear after a couple of games where you're frantically just trying to find the fucking exit to whatever map you're on and getting killed while you're super fucking frustrated and lost. That's the whole gimmick at this point, loot and escape. But, from the few hours I put in, gear was hard to find and exits were hard to find and people are hard to kill with just a god damn knife...
For me it was a obviously a very quick downward spiral; might come back to it after it's had a little more time in the oven. Graphics are pretty good, the sound is incredible but the controls are pretty damn clunky. I mean people say PUBG is janky and I think it's pretty polished/fluid compared to this. One thing about the controls that I did like was the ability to reduce walk / crouch speed with the mousewheel ala old Splinter Cell. And another comparison to PUBG, if you think that game is a walking simulator/slow... EFT feels like fucking molasses. Just my opinion |
