So if you turn the shadows off in Shadow of War, I guess that just makes it War.

Hahahahaha. Bravo

Can I just say I 100% agree to that naming list thing? The marketing bullshit in PC hardware is so absurd I can't even fathom the reasons for it anymore. Does AMD think server admins buy a CPU that's called Threadripper? You know how that looks on a subsidy funding request?

Yeah, neither does AMD *cough*

Why is my computer so slow?! The unnecessary gaming graphics settings you should sacrifice.
What a crap article they make all these claims and have a screenshot made for ants so you can compare pffft.

Not only that, but they basically go "Turn off everything except Anisotropic Filtering, because that's essentially free."

I mean, I'd have gone one step further and told people to game at 320x240. You're sure to get at least 200fps then. (or at least 40 in Star Citizen! HEYOOOOOO!!!)

Well they did talk and show a graph in super and under-scaling. I do find it funny that games still have a AF setting and that many times I have to bump it up to 16. It has been a zero performance hitter for a long time now. I think they actually hit the places correctly, shadows we know some games simply melt with them on and enough are affected enough to consider dropping them into a medium range. The examples weren't all that good though, looks like SoW is poorly optimized.

I agree, this article is basically “maybe you shouldn’t set your games to Ultra if your gaming machine isn’t also Ultra”.

The part about the Lisa is quite interesting. I mean, I can't see anything really coming from it, but still.

It should be a fun look at computer history, if you are weird like me anyway. Getting to peak at the source was really my only motivation to try Linux when I was super young. I couldn't understand a lot of it, piqued my curiosity though.

There's a fool-proof way to tell if something a conservative/right-wing/Republican said is true or not. If they call it "fake news", you can be sure it's the solid truth.
