Speaking of the 80s, I actually watched some Miami Vice yesterday. Man, that was just such a great show. I hear Vin Diesel wants to reboot it, sigh. MV worked for the time because Miami had all the Cocaine Cowboys and it was crazy during that period. The reality is completely different today. You can't recapture that sort of magic. It was just the right show for the right place and time. Man, I still remember so many guys walking around in 84/85 trying to rock the Sonny look, heh.

Hey Blue, you've probably answered this question 100 times before but... what did you do at MTV? Is that where you met the missus?
Also, at the 2:28 mark Nina was TOTALLY checking you out, you should have dropped the hammer sir!![]()
Haha, not sure how I missed all the obvious signs.![]()
I started at MTV in the programming department calling people part time with music surveys (hence the teenager part). I eventually moved to VH-1 programming where I scheduled the promos, and later the music. Then I joined production at VH-1 as an associate producer where I did VJ segments and produced the countdown show.

My car has 17"s but also comes in 19"s. I've been given a loaner with the the 19"s when I was having warranty work done and didn't really notice the difference. IMO it comes down to how much you like the look of the larger tires vs. the increased cost of up keep.
Imagine driving around on 4 inch tires, you would feel every imperfection in the road that a 14" tire would roll over with ease.
The issue with taller tires is that generally they decrease in aspect ratio (sidewall height) and have to make up for it with stiffer sidewalls, therefore decreasing the vehicles effective suspension.
Well when you're looking at different trims of the same car the tire size is really rim size. So a 19" rim is going to have a shorter sidewall than a 17" rim. I don't think the actual tire size changes at all, just the rim. Having a physically larger tire would require more work than just swapping out tires.

You get what you pay for with tires, as well.
I had Falkens, purchased on sale, and eventually moved up to the Consumer Reports highest rated Michelin's. They were maybe $30 more per tire. But the difference in ride quality was shocking.
Weird. I've had Falkens on my mazda 6 and my wife's Fiesta, and they are very comfortable tires. Also grip like a champ, and have little road noise to them. I quite enjoy Falken tires. (And Mercedes and Porsche put Falkens on their mid-range cars, so clearly they're pretty good.)

So I reckon the Steam sale is starting tomorrow, jah?
Any car guys have thoughts on tires/rims? In my research it seems to be that smaller rims and tires 15/16" provide a more comfortable ride and better fuel economy. Is that true? I've honestly never given a lot of thought to tyres/rims. I do know however I don't like those stupid large ones and low profile tires that hip hop artists all seem to be enamored with.
I just ask because the models I'm looking at range from 16/17/18 inch depending on the package. Can you get a better package with the smaller tires and corresponding price break?
