Is this even a point and click game anymore?
No, sadly not. I just recently played through the first 3 games, and absolutely loved them. Just then I discovered that a new game was in the making, and was pretty excited.
I bought it yesterday when there was not a single review yet on steam. This game is no point&click adventure. If you go to the controls, you can see a controller layout and stuff like "invert Y". In the game, you walk around with the controller and do some simple actions at certain interaction points, just like in a Telltale game.
Currently, I don't know if I would recommend it, as I wasn't too gripped by the game so far. The walking around is a bit clumsy, especially the orientation, because the camera position is mostly static, like in old Resident Evil games. There's no map or quick navigation or something like that.
And it seems to be poorly optimized, sometimes you get good framerate, but sometimes it drops for no apparent reason. As an example, walking around is fine, then you examine an object in the inventory and suddenly it goes down to ~20-30 fps until you exit the inventory again. Also the loading times between different rooms is pretty high, even with an SSD. This could turn out to be quite annoying if you need to explore or backtrack a lot (which will probably be the case in an Adventure game).
So currently I would advise to wait for some patches that hopefully come and improve the experience.
