Are they still going to edge-light it and charge $5000 for their bullshit?

Fuck Samsung.

Yes, you will.. edge light is a problem of all LED solutions aside from OLED But with OLED you obviously get far bigger and far more serious image quality problems, and let's not even get started on the whole 8bit problem

I don't think these TVs are edge-lit. The LEDs themselves are the pixels, just like in an OLED screen. They haven't been able to make the LEDs as small as OLEDs, though. So far they've shrunk a 4K-resolution screen from a 33-foot Cinema size down to a 150" TV. A 5" phone screen will probably come at some point.

Giant space ants, maybe.

According to ZDNet Korea, the top of the line TV will be 150 inches.

Niiiice! For a mere four kidneys and a hotdog you can have a 150 inch TV. I had a 130" 1080P projector setup at my old basement, and it was amazing... But having a 7' ceiling sucked because if anyone got up they would block the picture. And you had a very expensive bulb and notable cool-down period. I'm sure it will never happen, but if there was a 150" TV that would be fantastic.

Well that's what the article is, they're saying it's coming very soon. The 'Micro' refers to them shrinking down the same LEDs they currently use in cinema-size screens. Once they can get them even smaller than 4K at 150 inches (100 microns), supposedly LED is going to replace all these LCDs, OLEDs, QLEDs or whatever else you see being used now in screens of all sizes.
