Out of the Blue

So there's a funny side to MrsBlue's not-funny injury I mentioned the other day. The purpose of her splint is to keep her middle finger pushed upwards compared to the surrounding digits (the opposite of clenching it), presumably to provide enough slack for her ruptured sagittal band to heal. This means while she's wearing it, which is constantly, she is basically always flipping the bird. And in spite of Jerry's famous "no hugging, no learning" mantra for Seinfeld, we know that there are many life lessons to be learned from show. In this case the lesson for her would be to be careful where she points her wounded mitt at gas stations, lest she end up being chased all over by an irate George Costanza and a mystified Danny Tartabull.

So if I go to Google News the top item has the following headlines..
4 dead cnn.com
5 dead, 10 injured krcrtv.com
At least 5 dead ap.com
The gunman was killed by police, the gunman killed 4. So, 4 victims, 5 dead. You see this kind of death count variance by one in these types of stories on a regular basis....
good point, and as in all shootings the death toll can rise

Looks like that shooting story has been updated a few times since originally posted in this thread.

4 people killed, 2 children injured, across apparently SEVEN different crime scenes. Basically, he just drove around his town randomly shooting people. Weapons used were a semiautomatic rifle and two handguns.

Looking at not-too-britebart.com the main headline there is "Roy Moore was a democrat when he was diddling high school girls".
And "President Hillary Rodham Clinton should be tried for sumthin".

Screw this, I'm getting all my news from 4chan, reddit, fakebook, youtube and twitters. It's the only way to be sure you get the "best" news.

My daughter almost got disqualified from her swim meet. She was on the blocks and one of her friends had just finished in the same lane. She greeted her, but the girl couldn't really see, so she said "It's me!" and pointed to herself with her middle finger. The official thought she was flipping the other girl off.

Wow, I distinctly remember getting grounded at a young age (before elementary I think) after a friend convinced me flipping off random people was a crude, but funny thing to do; damn neighbor ratted me out. So I guess I find it weird kids don't know what it means.

The solution to the toxicity of identity politics surely isn't to add white identity politics to the mix.

Have you guys tried the new Firefox? I like it! It really does seem snappy!

And in the future you can thrive with only 256kb of RAM!

I kid, I kid, I know that quote is taken wildly out of context.

I have been playing around with the last couple of versions and used Firefox 57.0 Quantum today. It's dandy.
Chrome has some catching up to do.

Nothing is as safe as elementary, make sure you kiss your kids goodbye everyday.
5 dead after shooting at elementary school in Northern California.
If we only had more guns.

Only 5? That seems hardly worth commenting on.

My son, along with many kids his age, uses his middle finger to point. I think it is hilarious and we have not discouraged him from doing so.
