DDR4 is great for server farms or large-scale computer architectures where voltage savings is important, but it's not really critical for home use. DDR4's MT/s starts at DDR3's fastest speed (2133). However, the article noted that the increased speed means an increase in lag. As noted in the article, "DDR3-1600 operated at a latency of CL11, which took 13.75 nanoseconds to initiate a read. DDR4-2133 sits at CL15 and performed a read at 14.06 nanoseconds—only a 2% increase." So it looks like DDR4 has benefits but it would be overkill for my needs. Coupled that with RAM being expensive, I think I'll stick with DDR3.
Feel free to correct or update anything I'm missing. Not opposed to DDR4, it simply doesn't look like it's for me and my budget. I'll try to be more clear, every new processor since skylake (i 3-5-7 6*** series) and up use DDR4 not 3 you can not physically insert a DDR3 memory module in a DDR4 slot without breaking the motherboard.
The motherboard you chose also states it requires DDR 4. I started seeing that at pcpartpicker.com. Most, if not all, of the LGA 1151 mobos only take DDR4 ram. The option to select DDR3 was disabled. That was a great thing about that site. Not only will it prevent me from selecting conflicting hardware but it also told me the required wattage. Not really worried about that. The power supply I have atm is the only top-notch piece of hardware. |

For intel it does not make huge differences, but the sweet spot is usually considered around the 3.000 Mhz mark lower timings are also better.
RAM is pretty expensive atm so keep that in mind. Thanks! I wanted to know if there is a noticeable difference in performance between DDR3 and DDR4? If not I'd rather go with DDR3. It was the cheapest with the highest rating. Typically RAM speed and RAM type have had a pretty small effect on overall frame rate. I haven't looked into it for a few years now though, but usually your money is better spent in better graphics hardware. Especially if you already have DDR3 RAM. Better to spend a bit more and make certain your motherboard can take the RAM you have and the RAM you're buying. You get more, slower RAM for much less. |

This game shows you do not need Anti-Cheats. You just take a Hero and smash the enemy team anyway. And you can just crush people with your wallet by buying loot boxes. Why bother with Anti-cheat when your selling the cheats? |

I don't have BF1 but I have ACO, and it runs very well on my system with very high settings at 1920x1080. Of course, they were developed and published by different studios so it's likely the min and rec specs are real. I do like your idea of trying first and only upgrading if I need to. I'll do that. Thanks!

Yeah, right. Someone's been getting in bed with processor manufacturers. I'm sure a processor from 5 years ago will be plenty. |

while the changes to loot crates and Star Cards that EA announced last week seemed promising, players willing to open their wallets can apparently gain a significant advantage: XfactorGaming blew $90 on the 12,000 Crystals bundle, and ended up with a level 14 interceptor in the Starfighter Assault mode.
"We're absolutely mopping people up," he says in the video. "When you're rolling around with a level 14 interceptor and it takes people 150 percent more time to lock on because you've already got a blue three-point card, that's an absolute game-changer." nothing is locked behind a paywall, you'll just have to grind for it. I read that some of the things are artificially higher for the early access so retail might be a little less grindy.
The more disconcerting rumor is that there's no anti-cheat protection on the PC. |
