The Weinstein thing has taken the cork out of the bottle. A lot of people have been coming forward with their experiences.
Because coming out previously meant that not only would people not believe you, but also that your acting career would be over. Now there are enough people coming out about this that it's adding legitimacy to their claims and any black-balling of an actor or actress is going to be under a lot of scrutiny.
