Out of the Blue

Today is the anniversary of this site first moving to its own domain. And if you raise a glass to celebrate, the site will be able to join in, as it is now 21. The support we've gotten here from so many of you for so long continues to amaze and delight, and nothing would make me happier than to be able to continue to share and discuss game news here for another 21 years. Thanks for being part of it.

The new trailer for Star Wars: Episode VIII is out and it is pretty meh in my opinion. It is full of red herrings. I think director Rian Johnson kind of gave us fake news on episode VIII by editing different scenes so they give you a wrong idea about what is really happening. Then again, this way he kind of gives you anti-spoilers: you think you get it but you don't.

Usually the director has no input in making the trailer.

Congratulations, Blue! We're all officially old, if you didn't realize it yet.

El Pit -> yeah, probably red herrings, but I honestly prefer that to complete spoiler trailers, like 99% of trailers. I can avoid most trailers online, but if you actually go to see a movie in a theater, you will get blasted with 30~ minutes of spoiler filled clips... ridiculous.

Congratulations on your 21st anniversary.

Although it's already the 10th of October here in Germany I will make sure to raise a glass to this occasion.

Congrats Blue, been my homepage since August 1997!

Yeah, I remember printing out Blues News on my HP 5M Laserjet and reading it on the bus (along with Anandtech) on my way to work. There were no iPhones or LTE back then.

Gotta ask.. was there an epiphany or just a slow movement as you got older?

A bit of both perhaps. An epiphany in that I wanted my beliefs to be correct so I started down the path of critical thinking and skepticism.
Then the slow movement of shedding beliefs that I no longer had good reasons to believe.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, I was just reflecting on some of my old posts. Yeesh.

Happy Anniversary to Blues News!!!

Am I older and wiser or does daily reading of Blues News turn you into a stinking liberal?

I wonder what I'll be after another 21 years? Still a gamer and a fan of this site I'm sure.

as a refugee from voodooextreme, i feel like this is the last piece of my youth that never let go. grunge is gone, VE3D is gone, disillusionment is gone. only blues is left that is something uniquely from the heady days of my delightful ignorance.

here's to another 21 (and another after that) and refusing to grow up.
