Ironically, the Dems will have a better chance with Trump, if they can take the house and senate next year.
I've seen no evidence to indicate the Ds will take the House or Senate in 2018. Hell, Roy Moore is the likely next Senator from Alabama. My current prediction would be the best the Ds can hope for is to keep 48 seats in the Senate. They are not going to retake the House.

Trump and the GOP are making a mess of things, but the Ds haven't shown any coherent plan to counter it. When the Ds were in control, the GOP plan was obvious -- they were against anything and everything the Ds (specifically Obama) were for. Now that the GOP is in control, I have no idea what the Ds plan is... and neither does the portion of the population they need to vote for them instead of the GOP.

Isn't this something which Wheeler and the old gang should have anticipated especially so close to an election? Couldn't that have done something to make it permanent or at least stay in effect for x amount of years before the torches and pitchforks came out from ISPs?

Seems like a waste when the next administration can come in and essentially lay waste to everything done by the previous.

No, the agencies like the FTC and FCC can create mandates and guidelines and suggestions etc, but they are NOT law. So you're always going to wind up with the chance that the next election, all these guidelines go out the window.

For most agencies, this doesn't happen, because the guidelines are good, make sense, protect the public interest, etc. Even when new commissioners show up, they know that the rules are good, so they leave them alone. In the case of the FTC, however, these rules that are good contradict the need for Ajit Fucking Pai to line his own pockets, so out they go.

He is literally the biggest whore to have ever walked this planet. And that's saying something if you look at our current Congress critters and Senators.

Because absolutely nobody...NOBODY on the planet actually thought Donald Trump was going to win this election. Not even Donald Trump. But to enact more permanent remedies like that, you usually need to get Congress involved, and we all know who the GOP works for. Need look no further than at who is in charge of the FCC, and what he's been doing to wreck like a decade of progress overnight.

That would have required congressional support. I'm sure Obama could have gotten the Repubs to go along with that. Laugh2
