Doesn't matter, a month later the estate tax is still a chief concern of his, as he thinks the government will take his money after he dies. The state, sure, but he never votes based on state estate taxes...
This is a perfect explanation of one of our major problems. People simply believing what politicians say instead of spending a few minutes to find out if the politician is or isn't correct. It reminds me of the "death panel" nonsense the GOP rolled out when they were trying to keep the ACA from passing. And the worst thing about it, there is no easy solution. If you couldn't convince your father the estate tax is not a death tax on every American, what hope is there to educate the general populace on more complex issues?

It is 1000 times more scary seeing them "protest" and actually talking, if youre stupid enough to try a discussion with them, than Trump.
They make their real mentality very obvious, yet democrats, the media, and other neoliberals at least tolerate them, but also try to make their mentality mainstream.

Yeah, reform the lowest rate from 10% to 12% -- that will certainly help the common man!
Isn't that the same one that adds an estimated 4 to 6 trillion to our national debt in 10 years too?
Eh? I was referring to the recently proposed outline provided by the GOP -- which includes raising the current lowest tax bracket from 10% to 12%.

The funny thing about our current debt: Most of it is from GW Bush and Republicans. Republicans outspend Dems when in power. By a lot. Spending under Obama increased at a lower rate than any other president in the past 60 years, but the GOP attempts to place their debt on Obama because he was President after they ran up the credit cards. GW Bush left Obama with a 1 trillion dollar *per year* budget deficit after squandering Clinton's budget surplus. Now we are going to try and do it all again with Trump's Trickle Up tax cuts. According to experts, the poor will pay more taxes, the middle class will see no change or a tiny tiny decrease while trillions flow to the already ludicrously wealthy.

What do you want reformed, what do you think will happen, and what evidence do you have that the changes will bring those impacts?

What's important to regular earners on the right on positions against their own interest re: healthcare, taxes, workplace and environmental protections, etc., is that it pisses off liberals. So there's every indication that will happen and no reason to think that the proposed changes, if they come to pass, won't bring about that outcome.

I think he's talking about the over 1 billion Trump will end up pocketing in the next 10 years from his tax overhaul. Pretty sure that's the one.

One analysis I read showed households making $900,000 would have their tax burden reduced by $200,000.
