Equifax should go away for the rest of my life. I love how their new CEO is "We need to work hard to regain your trust."

Motherfuckers, WHAT TRUST? NONE OF US EVER CHOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU. The US government just allows you to harvest and store every single shred of financial data on us that exists for absolutely horseshit reasons.

These leftists Marxist progressives are such complete SCUM!

That's no way to connect with people. You opened yourself up to the ad hominem attacks and now people are laughing at you and your opinion. Now they feel morally superior which makes the problem worse. Try small steps (one fact at a time with no insults) for small victories.

You've been here years. Always polite. We all think of you as basically a polite him. Sane off the deep end opinions with no basis in reality, brain washed by fringe and hate.

Credit locks and credit freezes only protect you from people opening up accounts in your name. Those are damaging, but not as damaging as someone gaining access to your bank account or retirement account, which they can do with all of the information Equifax just provided criminals. To fight that, you need to have instantaneous account monitoring of all of your accounts, on the fly. The "credit monitoring" business needs to take a hike, and it should be mandated that all consumers have instant access to their credit information every day at any time. It's ridiculous that people have to pay a company to access information about themselves, that that company is using to profit from in the first place.

I trust Equifax to do exactly jack shit right now. The scope of the breach is breathtaking and like many breaches, was accomplished in the most simplistic manner. It begs the question why there aren't stricter regulations for companies who possess enough information to literally derail the entire credit system.

Zip your corporate speak PR trap and spend some money on security. Stop with the PR platitudes and loophole offers.

But security costs a lot of cash. It's far cheaper to just spend some money on some senators and get yourself absolved from all blame.

Also the breach has become a great marketing and customer acquisition opportunity. "See?? People need our services! You never know what could happen!"

To get your free credit lock you must absolve equifax of all grievances past, present and future.

Mark, it takes a big man to admit you were wrong and do it in such a timely manner. /puke
