Oh fuck off Bluehole. You sound like you're just mad that you're going to have competition from what looks to be a better and more feature-rich experience.

The problem is Epic games is flat out using the PUBG name in marketing their PUBG ripoff mode in Fortnite.

Is it in their marketing, or just what people are saying in interviews? Didn't every fps dev in the mid 90s discuss Doom?

EA/2015 would've had a better chance suing Activision/Infinity Ward after the MOHAA team defected and built what is essentially the same game in the same engine for Activision with different maps than these clowns have of winning any court battle

I get the impression that their first comment was nothing more than "Epic is trying to copy us and steal the Battle Royale genre!" without thinking of the blow back that comment would have when everyone else went "Yeah... you stole it too."

Now he is trying to play damage control by turning the conversation away from their overblown egos and into some weird land of corporate espionage and namedropping that can't be inferred from the original statement at all.

This is just bad damage control for a stupid statement. Doing nothing more than making things worst.

So, according to this industry "genius" everyone is allowed to make survival games inspired by PUBG, but Epic because they are Epic.

Yeah, that'll go real far in a court if it ever gets that far.

This guy's dumb as a sack of dirt. He wants to take legal action against the company from whom he's licensing his technology, a company from whom literally anyone can license that same technology, because they made a game in the same subgenre as him. And the 'large amount of royalties' they pay to Epic Games is 5%, same as every other licensee, which does work out to about $1.5M of the about $30M they've made so far. So while it may be a large dollar amount, it's not a high rate, and certainly not unfair for what you receive.

Hey, it's cutting into the "Hookers and Blow Fund."

Stop digging, PUBG. You're starting to squander all that respect and good will you've built up to this point.

Thought about buying this over the weekend, but hesitated in case Epic goes Silicon Knights on them. They're shooting themselves in the foot.

Neglects to mention the dozen ideas from both popular movies and other games that PUBG was "inspired by" on its way to most popular FPS.
Playing: Ys VIII, Hades, Demons Souls
Watching: The Expanse, Tenet, Peninsula
