Snopes suffers the same confirmation bias as anyoen else. The fact that so many people trust them implicitly without doing their own research would be laughable if it was so sad - and dangerous.

The internet would be a horrible place without fact checking sites like snopes.com. David Mikkelson should get a Nobel Peace prize.
So the CCleaner attack was targeted. You'd think that Microsoft, Google and Intel would have systems in place to prevent the help from running unauthorized software like cleaners in the first place.
Unless of course this was the "Professional" version of the software and was approved for use.
